What a stunning grey girl you are! How wonderful that you have adjusted so well to life in a home, with a family -- enough to give nose bumps, supervise your human mom and enjoy petting and cuddle time! I like that you escort your people to the place of your choice when it is time for petting! You have learned to play with toys and be around other kitties too! I hope you have a very long, happy, fun-filled life with your caring family, sweet Emily! I love the expression on your face in the first picture :D Happy Cat of the Day to you, lovely kitty Emily!

Dearest Emily, you are so beautiful, such a sleek grey girl, complete with matching grey nosie! And how nice to learn how you overcame your shyness and became such good company for your family. How good of them to be so calm and patient waiting for you to become more outgoing and develop your communication skills. And it is especially nice that you won them over so completely as to the wonder of cats, that they have just kept on adding more to the family!

Congratulations on being selected today's Cat of the Day, lovely Emily! We hope you and your kitty siblings and all your family are celebrating with you with lots of fun and lovies and special treats and even a dance or two.

I have seen Emily's coloring described as "dilute tortie." My Lady Peter shares the coloring, and these cats also seem to share personality traits which give them the abiliity to communicate very directly with their persons, they don't need English to get the point across!

Dilute torties don't come along very often! I'm so glad she landed with you. It's where she belongs, I can see that from how you described her.

I have derived the greatest pleasure in having met YOU through your write-up for your cat Emily. You quite obviously have it! Your wit and humour, the deeply respectful and understanding interaction with Emily, the way you talk about your cats--would that every cat had such a simpatico and wise human as you are. This has made my day, it really has done.

Thank you. Now that I know more about animal rescue, I can see why the vets might have been hesitant to send a scared former feral home with us. We were totally inexperienced with cats and had little boys who, while always respectful of the cats, have their loud and rowdy moments with each other. We take great delight in how well it turned out for all of us and enjoy sharing the story with others. As cat lovers I know we all enjoy a happy ending!

Hi Emily! Happy Cat of the Day to you, sweetheart! (We couldn't have brother Eko stand alone in the Cat of the Day Hall of Honor, could we now?:)) And so nice to hear today from your Mommy, too!:) I hope you and your siblings are all enjoying a very happy day of celebration, being spoiled rotten!

I was so touched by your Mommy's loving tribute to her beautiful girl, by your homecoming story! Great thanks to vets such as yours, doing all in her/his power to find loving forever homes for kitties as deserving as you! We're so glad your Mom resisted the temptation to take the easier route, adopting a more sociable, laid back kitty, but instead, taking a chance on a feral still learning to love and trust! It's clear you and your family make for one perfect fit, were meant to be as one, and I hope for you all, many, many more happy, carefree, love filled years together!:)

Lots of love, cuddles and kisses to you, precious Emily, and to Eko and all of your furry sibs, too!:love::love:
P.S...LOVE your photo spread, and the look on your face near the end of your video, priceless!:D

ecb, never worry, the cats will teach you. I adopted my very first cat, Miss BooBoo Kitty, a very fiesty white tortie. Under her instruction, I learned about cats. After being so fortunate to have been able to share my home with NINETEEN cats(13 are waiting at the Bridge). They have been a constant source of comfort and joy in my life.

Emily, you are a beauty!! Given a wonderful FOREVER home, you have adjusted and now accept LOVE!!!! In the end, that is all that matters. HAPPY COTD!!!

Hello Emily,
You look so much like my Cuddles, and your story has many parallels to her life, as well.

That was a special day, that day at the vet office, when this family came in and made the decision to take you rather than the other kittens. They saw your potential. And you have been allowed to mature and grow into the loving kitty cat you always had hidden inside.

My Cuddles - you can see her photo in my siggy - was stuck in a cage at the local animal shelter for over 6 months. When I adopted her, she was so frightened of big places, she wouldn't even come out of her carrier. The idea of a whole room was just too much space for her! I kept her in my spare bedroom for several weeks, going in to visit with her, talking to her, and letting my other cats in one at a time to get to be with her. I initially considered naming her "Phantom," but decided she needed a name she could grow into, rather than a name that would hold her back.

Today, like you, my Cuddles delights in belly rubs. Her special place is on my bed, and yes she leads me there for her cuddle time! So similar to you sweet Emily. And like you she enjoys the company of all the other kitties here.

Emily, I really laughed watching your video. What a pawsome dance routine! If that doesn't get you the treats, food and petting you are asking for, I sure can understand why you move up to nails and teeth, ha haaa. Sending you chin rubs pretty kitty. I suspect you will not have to ask too hard for extra treats today, and maybe some catnip will show up for you to enjoy as well!

Emily - you are so cute! You look like and behave like my Dust Bunny - she was a 'fraidy cat' too, when I rescued her from the streets as a kitten...she's still a 'fraidy cat' - lol! :)
May everyday be Cat of the Day for you, Emily!

Sorry to comment a few days late but I just had to give Emily and her human their "props"!!! It truly is a wonderful story with a happy ending. It's so amazing how far Emily has come. My Suki (COTD in Aug) loves following me around when doing all the mommy duties too!!! She helps me tuck the little ones in every night! It's so sweet to have a little helper. And she too was the cat the opened my eyes to the world of rescue. So glad you've joined COTD! Congrats! :) :) :)
