So, we were talking about names for the puppy and we agreed we probably would like to name him after a tv character - So far, we have thought of:

- Norm (Cheers)
- Booth (Bones)
- Cosmo (Seinfeld)
- Gus (Psych)
- Sheldon (Big Bang Theory)
- Gibbs (NCIS)
- Dunphy (Modern Family)
- Mosby (How I Met Your Mother)
- Doogie (Doogie Howser, M.D)
- Griffin (Family Guy)

So we are trying to think of CLASSIC character names that'd fit a Lab. Any ideas? :)

McGee (NCIS)

I guess your ideas of "classic" and mine reflect our age! LOL

Brady
Grady (My 3 Sons)
Elroy (The Jetsons)
Johnny (The Rifleman)
Perry (Mason)
Desi (I Love Lucy)
Danny (The Danny Thomas Show)
Mr. T (The A Team)
Cosby (The Cosby Show)

I usually stick with names ending in the "ee" sound, as I was taught these are easier for a dog to hear / learn for following commands (like herding, Agility etc). That may or may not be true, lol, as my current Agility instructor had her dogs named Dream and Wish. Though she does call Dream "Dreamie" when running a course, lol.

As long it's a great name, I'm happy. These are all great suggestions - I agree about the "IE", "E", or "Y" at the end - My first dog's name was Benny. And there was Rosie as well. I'm liking Elroy. I wouldn't mind famous dog names too! It doesn't matter, as long it's a classic character, present or past! :)

I love the name Grady!

I will have to think if I can come up with anything on my own.

You're a Buckeye fan - how about Cassady, after Howard - Hopalong - Cassady? Good suggestion! I've thought of a couple: Archie Griffin (Archie), Tatum, Woody (Woody Hayes), Hopkins (art building - I majored in art and that's a building I've spent almost 90% of my time in!), Art Schlichter - "Art" (last QB to ever play for Woody Hayes)... I'm betting Archie will be on the top 5.

No Grady - It's one of the Indians' players' names... not a fan! ;)

Any chance you'd name him Spock (Star Trek)? :D:p

Now we are thinking names that goes with "RED".... suggestions? It can mean "red" or have "red" in the name.

Redley
Rutley
Redwood "Red" or "Woody"
Flynn (means Red)
Rowan

I like Redwood - and he can be Woody like from Toy Story! ;) Or Rudi - I had a friend who had red hair and the last name Rudikov, which he admitted was redundant, as it means red-head in Russian!

Can't use Rory. That is my brother's name. :) Rusty either, because Mike's aunt used to have a dog named that as well.

Awesome, thank you! :)

There is the name I liked, Redley! That way Mike can still call him "Red".. and I'll just do the full name, haha ;)
By the way, puppies are expected to be born around Oct. 23rd! Ahh, time is flying by. I can't wait.

Lady's Human once had a red pickup truck named Clifford the Big Red Truck! :) Lady looked very pretty perched in it, as it showed off her shiny black fur nicely!
