Ahoj!
Udělali jste dobře Plyšáček! Co krásná kočka, kterou nyní máte ve Vašem Chalupa!
Měl jsem až donedávna dvě zachrání z Česka: Sašo, nalezený v Turnově, a Radce, z Liberce. Sasha žil 17 let, a Radka na 14. Teď mám Norská lesní kočka, i záchranu. Zachráněné kočky jsou nejlepší!

Plyšáček, what a wonderful little tabby boy you are- and I am very impressed that someone in this international website can greet you in your own language.
Only thing I understand though is that you are a beautiful kitty and that is true for sure.
It sounds as if you have a happy life with all your siblings and cousins. We hope you have a little summer party together to celebrate Cat of the Day day:)

Dobře Plyšáček! Co krásná kočka, indeed! (What a beautiful kitty!) I am Czech on my mom's side, though I don't speak the language fluently. My mom does, though!
You are a most adorable kočička! I would love to give you some gentle petting and look at your lovely markings! I hope your guardian will give you some extra petting for me during the next visit. vzácný kočka, Plyšáček! You are certainly plush-- I wonder if you will have a long coat and I know it will be just as beautiful whether short or long. And playful, too-- what cute pictures of you playing and being snuggled in someone's hand! Happy, happy Cat of the Day to you!

What an awesome rescue story and an awesome little stripey kitty! Love the English translation of her name, "Plushy" so perfectly describes her and I'm sure that she's an adorably cuddly handful :).

Oh, little one, you are just too precious for words!!!:D Your "lead in" should have come with a MAJOR cuteness alert warning; I've melted in an oohing and ahhing puddle of mush!:p What a wonderful rescue story is yours, Plyšáček, a happy ending all around, for you and for all of your littermates! And of course your Mommy is keeping you! Thanks for the BIG smiles, little one! Wishing for you and your proud parent a very happy Cat of the Day, and many, many more years of shared love and companionship!

Yes, the "optional characters" are part of most typefaces, you just have to know the right keystrokes to get to them, which varies depending on which operating system you are using!

See now I never thought of that! :) I did, however, google "how to write in czech" and then copied and pasted from there :)

That would work, but it is a long way around the pot to pull the chain.
I have a Czech alternate keyboard layout available at my command, and most operating systems allow one to obtain this. Also, good operating systems provide a "character map" whereby you can select from the entire character set the character you need and then copy/paste it. This is slower than typing directly in Czech.
Also, Google Translate gives one a means to write in one language and translate to another. Sometimes the translations are fairly good.
Myself, I write directly in Czech, although English is my first language. I wanted to read Czech literature and philosophy, so I learned Czech in order to do so.

The ý is wrong here, but the acute accent prolongs the vowel sound for half again its usual value.
The s with the hook sign "háček" [š] above it gives it the phonetic value "sh".
Likewise the č: its phonetic value is "ch" as in "choose".
There should be no acute accent over the e in the cat's name.
Almost all Czech sentences have the stress on the first syllable. There is a difference in Czech between stress and prolongation of the phonetic value. A long a [á] is likely not stressed, but it has got to be prolonged in pronunciation. This is often difficult for non-Czech speakers to differentiate and master. The letter "y" and the letter "i" both are sounded as in Italian:hard e. There are subtle differences between these two that Czechs can hear. Likewise Czechs can hear the difference between y and ý.
The cat's name is in the DIMINUTIVE. In English we have Richard and Dick and Dickie. Czech diminutives evince affection and are vary common. So here we have formed the cat's name from the Czech word for plush, "plyš", and appended the affectionate diminutive; the cat's name is thus "little plush or plushie".
