Ming is uot of hiding, eating (boy is he eating!), peeing, and drinking. I am going to wait a few days, and if he stays healthy and the vet doesn't recommend further trestment, I will be reimbursing everyone who sent me money.
Ming says "Thank you!"

Tonight he flooded the litterbox with pee and begged for an early dinner. HE'S BACK! :D:love::love: Thank you all for your prayers and donations. I will talk to my vet tomorrow and will most likely return all the money, once I figure out how.

Ming is doing well, but seems to be suffering from a little urinary incontinence. It's a better situation than a blockage, but it's still something I want to talk to the vet about. Has anyone has a male cat become incontinent after catheterization?

I'm so glad to hear that he's eating and peeing well.:) No, I've never had a cat that had urinary incontinence. I was told that this will some times happen after the PU surgery if it isn't done correctly. Hopefully this won't last and it can be easily treated. Good luck.:)

He seems better about that this morning. I think it was because he was cathed for 5 days and his urinary tract got used to the cath doing all the work. It's improving. Ming still has a ways to go,he's just not himself yet, but he's getting there.

He's doing very well. Funny thing is, he no longer wants to eat dry, only wet. I suppose that's good in a cat that suffers from chronic FLUTD. I talked to my vet and she really wants me to see the specialist, but Ming is doing so well that I don't want to use any of you people's generous donations for him. I will figure out how to get the money out of my Paypal account and return it to everyone. I don't feel right using it if there is no longer an emergency.

Hang on to the money for about a month. Ming may well continue to do excellently but give it some time just in case. What is your vet's idea behind seeing the specialist? Is it just to double check on whether surgery will be an option in the future? It might be a good precaution. Just sayin'.

Glad Ming is still doing so well!:)

I'm so glad to hear that Ming is still doing well. Feeding him canned food is a great idea.:) If I were you, I'd still see the specialist to at least talk about other options Ming may have other than surgery. You certainly don't want to wait until he becomes blocked again and then you don't have the time to try the other options. I would also hold onto the money for a while. It hasn't even been 2 weeks yet and your vet said that he could still block at any time. I hope he'll never block again but unfortunately a cat like Ming probably will at some point. Please look into the other options while he's doing well. Lots more prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way.

Wow, so nice to hear that Ming is still doing nicely. I agree, that you should hang on to the money for quite some time. Because, if it happens, you'll need to get him to the vet asap. I, too, would look at different options. I have not heard of options, but hey, things change daily and maybe they have a shorter, easier method figured out.

Hugs to Ming. Hugs to you. See, sometimes things work out!

XOXOXO

P. S. Whatever money I sent, is yours and Ming's, it is a gift. I trust you will spend it for Ming's medical bills. I am sure you have quite a bill from his initial visit. I love Ming, from afar!!!

Okay guys, I will talk to the vet this week and see what's up.hink I have enough for a vet visit and a consultation What I will do from there depends on what his prices are. I was contacting Paypal yesterday to see how to get a check mailed to me so I could give you guys your money back, but I will just wait and see. It's funny, I've always fed both wet and dry (both healthy brands) and Ming ate both and went YEARS without a blockage. I change brands of dry (not to an unhealthy brand, just a notch below Wilderness) and he blocks. Now he won't touch dry. He ate about 10 small pieces of Wilderness yesterday, but continues to prefer wet. He needed to lose weight, he actually waddled when he walked, and he has lost enough to wear he looks much healthier and no longer waddles. So, I'm leaving well enough alone and not pushing him to eat dry for now.

I think that this is a great idea. I've heard that cats that are overweight tend to have urinary problems. My RB Storm was never overweight though. I hope that things continue to go well for Ming.
