She is scheduled to be put down next week. I am not spending tons of money on equipment (vacuums and air purifiers/ filters that do not work to save a cat when my str is suffering with her allergies and asthma. Yes the cat has been a member of my family however my dtr is a bigger and more important member.

I often suggest this website as a good source for cat rescues: http://www.aplnj.org/projectTNR.php.
Very few rescues and no-kill shelters take in owner surrenders, as there are SO many in need. Our rescue mainly does TNR, stray and feral cats. My best suggestion is always to find a friend or family member to take in your pet. Or, find a way to keep the pet, as most allergies do not develop overnight and they also are manageable. I am so sorry to hear this, as your cat is truly a member of your family after 8 years. Perhaps with the right tools (there are air sanitizers, etc), medications and separating your kitty, you can make this work. I hate to think of what will happen to her otherwise. Many rescues and shelters will keep her in a cage 24/7, and its not a fair life for her...I hope you can do right by her.
