Does anyone else's kitties do something similar when their water bowl is empty? With a 40# Aussie in the house, she can easily empty the bowl in one passing, and my two kitties are usually so polite to let me know they're thirsty (aside from drinking from the toilet...)

This is Pretzel, btw :)

I love her sweet, little face!!! Mac will do that by his feed bowl when it's empty, but as he's aged, he's gotten a little louder about it.

As talkative as she is, she doesn't make a sound when she does this!

That is so adorable! She is a beautiful kitty. My cats do not let me know when the water dish is empty.

You are so polite, pretty Pretzel. Being that you are Siamese, I'm surprised that you don't protest very vocally about the empty water bowl! ;)

We recently started putting ice in when we refill it, and it confuses the heck out of both cats! They stare at it forever, and eventually one builds up enough courage to paw at them haha.

She is VERY talkative at odd times... she doesn't talk to us or when we're around/in the room with her, just randomly! My other late siamese-mix Sophie was not really a talker either unless I was around, she would chat up a storm with me, but no one else :)

This made me crack up! They are so funny when they are sitting and watching something curiously. :D :p

That's funny. I had 3 Siamese (all at once) years ago, and they all talked in varying levels and degrees. The littlest one (the only female), was the one with the biggest (loudest) mouth. :D

Yes, mine do that, too. Luna and Lily would sit next to their water bowl (not only when it's empty, but also if the water isn't fresh enough, in their opinion). They would stare at me and I'm sure that somehow they're trying to communicate telepathically to make me become aware of their wish. And it works. ;)

Your Pretzel is very cute, btw. :)

I don't think that my cats have ever let me know about their water dishes. I do clean them out every morning and refill them so they should be full enough for the rest of the day. I now have 4 different ceramic water bowls which 8 cats share. Some of them also like to drink the remaining water that's left in the kitchen sink. I always keep the toilet lids closed because some cats like to play in the toilet water. My cat Pearl is also a siamese mix and she has the loudest voice. She'll talk to me a lot or just talk in general. My newest addition Finnegan will also talk but not always to me. He'll just start walking around meowing like he's lost. He's usually looking for his brother Colby. He loves him and feels lost without him. It's so cute.:)

My ex-in-laws' cat used to sit IN the water bowl when it was empty... funniest thing!

Without a word, she communicates perfectly! :)
