Lady has some weird bumps

Poor Ladybird. :( Lady is my friend's german shorthair. Well they left last friday and I had been dog-sitting her for the week. The first day I went over there I thought she looked kind of weird, but I thought it was just her fur kind of messed up or something. And then I felt her.....she has these weird bumpy scabs all over her sides. I kept watching them while I was dog-sitting her, and they were getting worse. Melissa got home this friday, and we took her to the vet yesterday (saturday). Poor Nebo had to go too, but lucky for him, it was just to get weighed and get some new heartworm meds...he's only gained 5 lbs in 3 months!! Anyway, the vet really wasn't sure what it was. So...$117 later...Lady got to go home. He gave her some antibiotic pills and some shampoo. She was also tested for Heartworm, and given one chewable tablet for the month. Melissa only had enough money on her for one tablet, lol, we didn't realize it would cost that much! He said it could either be caused by an allergic reaction (to what?) or some sort of bacterial infection. I wish we knew what had caused it! Has anyone's dog had anything like this before?

Cincy gets pimples from time to time, but mostly in areas there is not a lot of hair. we don't know what casuses them and they seem to go away on their own.

I also know a Pit Bull that breaks out in hives every time she goes into heat and a Lab mix that gets hives from bee stings.

Don't knowif any of this could be similiar, but I hope Lady gets better soon!

How's Lady doing?? It does sound like it might be an allergic reaction, maybe to fleas? Dogs that are allergic to fleas need only a few bites before they get a severe case of itching, biting, then scabbing. Does she get monthly Frontline? Hope the medicaiton and shampoo helps. Poor Lady:(

How's Lady's bumps?? I hope they are clearing up and the pills and shampoos are working!!!

Melissa says that so far the shampoo and the pills haven't really done much. She said they could be getting worse, although I haven't seen for myself. She does not get Frontline or any sort of flea and tick prevention. We've never used any of that because we don't have fleas in Utah...there's ticks, but it's not ticks she has all over.
