In autumn and winter I like to have a long bath on Sunday mornings. With something that smells well and some salt scrub and some hair mask. Filou shares that: He came to the bathroom when I went in the tub, went to his little radiator hammock and began to groom himself very thoroughly. When I went out the hair mask still needed some minutes. So after that I bowed my head over the tub to rinse it. And Filou jumped on the tub, went under my head and carressed my chin while I was rinsing my head (He would not walk in the water like Miley but he is not afraid of it). Then when I dried my hair with the towel he jumped on my shoulder and started to lick me dry (he did not finish that;) ). I am so moved to see how he helps with everything and seems even to understand what's going on. Although I should know better from daily experience, I cannot believe sometimes how close you can be with a representative of another species (because sometimes it's so difficult with our own).

barbara, that really struck a chord w/me. i have a cat that communicates his needs/concerns w/ me. i know it is so as when i arrange whatever the yowls seem to signify all is well again. my newest kitty....i have had him only about 6 weeks...as soon as he sees me go to the computer jumps on my lap, purrs away and when he isnt jumping on the keyboard, he is napping until i finish whatever i am doing at the computer. dont we just bond w/ our cats....cats are really wonderful and great companions...especially for me now that my children are grown and out on their own. lilly

Hanna really likes when I'm in the tub, too. She just hangs out on the edge, watching, or walks back and forth, to make sure I'm not drowning. Even when I turn the bubbles and air on, she doesn't get scared, she likes it.
I was making my bed the other day - and I swear this really happened: I was tucking my blanket in at the foot of my bed, and Hanna was of course on the bed. She took her paw and was pushing the end of the blanket down between the mattress and the footboard - like she was helping me tuck it in!
Another communication story: When Bo was a wee kitten, it was the Holidays. I had given my older cats some part of the turkey, and so I gave little Bo some too. It was probably too much. I looked at him a little later and he gave me a look and went "mew mew mew". He had never done that before, but for some reason I knew he was going to puke up that turkey. I scooped him up, quickly carried him to the sink, and up came that turkey. It was very odd - but it was like I understood perfectly what he meant by those mews.

Those are such sweet tails...my cat Allie is my shower cat. She runs into the bathroom and sits on the toilet or stays between the liner and curtain until I am out of the shower. Then, she jumps up on my back and onto my towel covered head. She lays over my head, with her legs on my shoulders and her arms doing the air kneading motion in front of my face. If I am in the shower and peek out at her...she immediately starts to meow frantically. Then, when I have to step over her to get into the shower, she grabs my last leg...
I use my make up brushes on the cats..and brush them with the big poofy end. They love it!! Even the boys!!!

Tubby likes it when I'm in the tub too, and since I've long loved a good hot bath with a good book, Tubby has liked them for a long time too. :) He normally will curl up on my clothes, which I leave in a pile next to the tub just so he can lay on them with part of him leaning on the nice warm wall that surrounds the tub. Even though I can't see him when I'm in the tub, I miss him being there on the rare occassion that he decides popcorn with his daddy upstairs is more important than a bath with mom. ;) :D

Livvy comes and chats with me at least once each time I indulge in a loooong soaking session in the tub, but Cassy usually will step off the edge of the tub and stand on my "tummy island". I panicked the first couple times he did it as a kitten (sharp kitten claws and tender, unprotected skin ... BAD combo) but he's very careful. I almost miss it when he decides to ignore my bath times. ;) :p

Hehe.. one time when I was enjoying a bubble bath Bassett got TOO curious and fell in!!!!   I was laughing so hard I couldn't even help her. She jumped out and now only sits on the floor, not the side of the tub, when I'm bathing :D
