Kallie is finally coming out of the back room. She seems scared of me. She likes my domestic help. She is more comfortable with humans as long as the cats are around. i think she was mistreated or ignored in her previous life.

But she's great with the cats. Even Sam likes her now. Spunky and Jane will stay with her in the back room when decides to retire there for the evening.

Some Cats do have issues in coming out into a new house.
My Pouncierge is still shy of me after all these years.:confused:
We pray that Kallie comes to you a bit quicker:love::love:

That is wonderful! It's very important she gets along with the other kitties. She'll come around to you eventually. :)

Thank you for your comments and encouragements. I'll pass them along to Kallie, too.

She will let me pet her before she eats. It's actually a requirement. I must pet her and give her chin and face scritches before she'll eat.

She's not argumentative, bossy, or growling, so I'll let her make her social adjustments at her own pace. I think Jane and she have been engaging in horseplay in the back room. There is a lot of tufts of white fur on the floor. Or she just sheds in clumps. :D

Your update sounds promising. With love and patience I'm sure Kallie will adjust and accept you completely but in her own time. Thanks for the update.

This is wonderful news.:) I'm sure that in time she'll come out of her shell and will eventually want more pets and scritches from you. Even though I adopted Ziggy when she only about 8 weeks old, it still took her about 3 years to really come out of her shell. Now she demands to be petted and can be very vocal about it at times.;)

It turns out that Kallie was a rescue named Patches. She was rescued by my neighbor's son about a year ago, the neighbor with the horses and cattle and run a bull riding farm. They keep the cats outside and have 8 others. I ran into her today and asked her if the cat was hers. She had wondered if she had taken up at my place because she hadn't seen much of her.

I told her she had wanted in and I thought she was being harassed by the long-haired Siamese Tomcat. She said that was likely since he is a mean cat. Kallie was always looking over her shoulder while she was eating. She can't catch him to fix him. The cats are rescues and aren't mousers. She feeds them too well. Her words. :D

She said Kallie was a sweet cat. So sweet she can't stand up to a mean cat. Which also explains her hesitance. Used to occasional scritches, but not to loving. She'll adapt.

She didn't ask for her back so I guess it's okay. :D I'm going to try and find out her approximate age. :)

I like the name Kallie. And she's not being harassed by a mean old Tom. :)
