http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/champs1.jpg http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/champs10.jpgHere are the Clarington Eagles piling off the bench to mob goalie Adam Wood and posing at center ice with the Central Ontario Junior C championship trophy after beating the first place Lakefield Chiefs 8-1 to win the series in 6 games on Sunday night.Pretty good for a team that management thought would not have enough players to ice a team,they finished 4th overall in a 6 team league and beat the top 2 clubs in the league to do it,all thanks to goalie Adam Wood who is having a great playoff,has a goals against average of 2.23 in 16 games.They now play the Campbellford Rebels,champions of the Empire B Junior C League,series starts tonight here at 8 p.m,this the Quarterfinals,there are 2 rounds after this.The last Junior C championship we won was in 1981 as the Bowmanville Eagles,last time we were in it we lost in the final in 4 straight to the Belle River Canadiens in 1995 just before we moved to Junior A,of course now back in Junior C.
