Good morning beautiful lady Zelda and congratulations on being today's Cat of the Day.
I love to hear that you are one of the many kitties who survive kidney failure thanks to the fluids. And you are such a good girl to have your meowmie administer them. I can see our Filou smiling down from Rainbow Bridge- he also beat the failure for 5 years.
Have a wonderful day today and have a little party, too.:)

I know how you feel about Zelda; I have had my guy since 6 wks old, and he will be 17 next month! We have to keep loving and doing what we can for our geezers, don't we? Happy COTD Zelda, and many more.

Hi, pretty Zelda! The fact that you have been surviving for 3 years so far thanks to daily sub-q fluids gives me hope for my Schuyler who was just recently diagnosed with chronic renal failure.:( We give him daily fluids. We switch places from neck to hip areas so he doesn't get too many holes in one place. He was COTD too, on 12/2/03. I hope you have a happy COTD celebration, dear Zelda, and prayers for longevity to you from me and Schuyler! :)

Happy Cat of the Day to you, beautiful Tuxie Zelda!:) You truly are a beauty, sweetheart, inside and out! Your long, thick coat is gorgeous, and your heart pure gold! You are living proof of the priceless rewards of kitty rescue/adoption, and we give great thanks to your family for giving one very special girl the happiest of lives!
What a brave girl you are, Zelda, taking your life saving fluid replacements without a fuss! I've been mom to two kitties diagnosed with CRF, and know it's no fun for you kids, being stuck with a needle every day; no fun for we moms either, having to stick our babies! But how lucky you are, having a family so dedicated to doing all in their power to keep you as healthy as possible, with them for a long time to come, and it's great to hear you're still going strong after 3 years! What a trooper you are, Zelda, one courageous feline, and so very deserving of being honored here today!:)
Many thanks to your Mom for sharing her beautiful girl, your very special and heart warming story with us! You truly are an inspiration to so many kitties battling CRF, and their families! Enjoy your much deserved day in the spotlight, beautiful girl, being pampered and loved to pieces!
Love and cuddles to you, brave and beautiful Zelda!:love::love:

Zelda what a beauty you are!!!
You look so much like my own, Winnie, that I did a double take for a second there. But she is laying upside down under my computer at the moment. If you were from Kansas, I'd swear you were related. ;) I'm so sorry about your health issues but it sounds like you have a wonderful and loving guardian to help you through them. I hope you enjoy many many more years together.
Congratulations, sweetie, on being our very special Cat of the Day. :D:love:

What a pretty, fluffy girl you are. It is obvious that you and your Momma love each other very much. Has your Momma heard about "Tripsy"? It is a liquid drops supplement for cats with kidney problems. It has VERY GOOD reviews. Please have your Momma search for Tripsy at
www.petwellbeing.com. Read the reviews for it. It has a 4.6 out of 5 stars rating, with 303 reviews:). I give it to a couple of my older cats to prevent future kidney problems. I hope you can try it. Happy Cat of the Day to you, and many more happy years with your Momma. God Bless you both.

Bless you for deciding to let Zelda live with this disease - many have not... My Beyli lived five happy years after diagnosis - I say happy because the only change in his life was to take medication and have fluids from time to time. It is not torturing them, it's loving them. He was such a trouper when I gave him his fluids and would jump down and have a snack afterwards and then come for a thank you cuddle. He got Fortekor (Benazapril) daily to help with common blood pressure issues that often come with CRF, and some Famotidine to deal with acid (got rid of the cramping and lessened the vomiting). I also raised his food bowl to cut down on acid forming in his throat - this way the food has an easier direct route to the tummy (I use the plastic baby wipe containers - perfect height). He got VERY little dry food after diagnosis because it worsens dehydration and also gives cramps since cats have pointy teeth and can only snap their food so they swallow it practically whole. With so many good quality canned foods on the market it really helped him and was more nourishing (given they are also carnivores) - Wellness and Natural Balance were his faves (Turkey). I wish all of you success in treating your beloved kitties who have this disease. My Caramel has Thyroid issues and slight kidney issues but at least I'm not as terrified - we'll deal with it together. A great CRF website is felinecrf dot org by the way - it is the best resource online as far as I'm concerned and has a wonderful Yahoo group too.

Zelda! A gray and white kitty - with a soul patch, a gray nose and a heart-shaped white bosom? You could be my Edwina's fluffier (she is short haired!) very close relative.
Good luck managing your kidneys. You definitiely picked the right meowmie who will make sure you get everything you need and...
Congrats to our Cat of the Day!!!

How anyone could just turn their back on such a fetching and exquisite cat as Zelda is quite beyond me. It is heartening that you took her in and are giving her the medical support and love she needs and deserves. So many people just can't be bothered.
Zelda - what a pretty lady you are! And such a trooper...and a sweetheart too!
May everyday be COTD for you!
