I got one a few days ago (last weekend?) and replied but haven't had one since then.
Hope that you got the reply!

I've sent a PM a few days ago and not heard back, but it could be that the person don't want to reply. :p

I think the problem may be that, as far as I've been able to tell so far, the new Pet Talk page does not indicate when you have NEW PMs. It just says Private Messages on the black strip in the header, and you have to click that to get your list of private messages to see if there are any new ones. As I recall, the old software put up a Bold note by the PM click spot saying you had new Private Messages when you did.
A couple of days ago when Gary started this thread, I clicked on his catmandu user id and then the choice to send him a private message. I then sent him one for a test, asking him to let me know if he got it. Then after I sent my message, my list of PMs came up and I found that I had THREE new ones, one going back a whole MONTH, that I'd had no idea I had gotten.
Karen, would you and Paul please see if you can somehow indicate for the user when there are any new Private Messages? .. something like the way the thread starter lists have the different colored backgrounds for the little envelopes before the thread titles? or perhaps the Private Messages spot on the black line can say "New Private Messages" .. ??
Thanks very much :love::love::love:,
Pat

Y'all might want to check your settings. I get notifications when I have messages, even visitor messages. My bar at the top of the page has "Notifications" and a number will appear with it when I have messages.
One odd thing: If you click on "visitor messages" when on the 'private message" page, it will take you to a page and tell you that you have no visitor messages to view, yet it will also tell you how much space you have used and how much you have left. Contradictory?

Thanks, Anne. I think I've got it set now. I tried looking under "Settings" yesterday but couln't find the right ones.
I guess I'll find out (or not)the next time I get a PM!

:eek:
I have the feeling that I was wrong as usual, as Randi said that the people I PMED do not wish to talk to me.:eek:
I am sorry, and My Awesome Angels are getting thier paper bags out to put over thier heads as Sylvester Junoir did all those years ago when he thought tht his dad was afraid of a Mouse.:eek::confused:

Gary, click on Forum Actions at the top, then General Settings. Scroll down and check "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up". Then you should get a pop-up when you get a PM. :)

Gary, if you are still using a public computer, you might have to check messages daily. Computers at the library might block pop-ups and certain other features.
It might also be that other members are also getting used to the new board and how it works and are slowly working their way around the all of the processes. I certainly took my time and decided not to worry about it.
