Hi everyone,

Got to get my stuff together and at least close out the year with a knockdown, drag out party for the Bar.

Wow, has it been a year gone by already?

As long as we don't knock down the bar itself, we should be good!

I'll get the kettle going for a mammoth pit of chai!

I do so miss the ol' onion dip made with Lipton Soup mix - as the soup is beef-based I cannot have it in real life anymore, so let's have some here! Always s staple of NY's Eve parties ... with potato chips, as calories here don't count!

22 more working days

I'll take a double shot of Uncle Jim please. Have not had him around for quite some time.

Potato chips or crisps as the UK people call it??? Bring 'em on. I'm so sick of eating chocolate....:p

I'll bring some Utz potato chips for the dip - they're from around these parts, and fresh is the only way to go with them! That and some wine would be lovely, thanks!

I'm with Slick and Karen. Salty snacks first and we'll move on to sweets later. Beer Nuts (from Bloomington, Illinois), anyone? Could I have a diet Coke with mine, please?

A "drag out party" eh? Does that me we have to dress cross-gender like? ;) Utz chips really are the best... mmmmm mmmmm GUD!! Nothing really New Yearsy about Guac but as long as we are having chips & dip I'll make some. Let's have a cheese & cracker tray also... and black-eyed peas slow cooked with butter & garlic for good luck in the New Year of course!

I don't eat chips often, but I do like Bugles with a good dip... many years ago, an American girl from Boston made the best dip I've ever had, Wish I had the recipe. All I remember is it was made from cream cheese. Get me the recipe, please! Ah, what to go with that for a drink? I'm ready for anything, as long as it isn't too sweet and doesn't have Whisky in it.

Karen, some of those old things are just the best, aren't they! Don't know the Lipton Soup mix, though.

Slick, those 22 days will be gone before you know it! :D

PS. I'll bring some Bounty Balls I just made.

Happy New Year, everyone!!

LOH - for years and years my Dad used to make shrimp dip on Christmas day to go with the chips and other snacks. I really miss it. Any chance you could post your recipe here?

Yes 22 days will go fast. Announcement will be made to staff on Tuesday.

Bring on the drinks. I'll take anything as long as it's 40%.

Not doing anything tomorrow evening. I'm going to try, yet again, to stay awake until midnight. I know will probably not happen though.

I've been on this board coming up 10 years now. Seen alot of changes but one thing is for sure - Thursdays is here to stay. I love it.

I am sure Aunt Zsa would approve of sharing the recipe, she was always good about that!

Should we all volunteer to phone you at 11, then 11:15, then 11:30, then ...

Slick, might I suggest an afternoon nap with Merlin to help you make the midnight hour. Hoping I can convince Cali and Diego to do that tomorrow.

I made some really good vegie chili today, no meat, no gluten, no lactose. Perfect for my needs. Karen you might even be able to try it!

Was about to put on some tea, anyone interested?

You should definitely share the chili recipe! There are many veggies I am allergic to, but you never know ...

And I'll refresh that pot of tea, and put the kettle back on for some really yummy hot chocolate later, with cinnamon and nutmeg to make it extra special!

I'd love that chili recipe too. Not much of a meat fan so always looking for good alternates.

Staying warm by the fire and having hot chocolate sounds like a great way to watch the ball drop.

9:30pm PT and still awake and shakin' to some tunes. I think I just might make it this year. Mind you, Merlin and I had a snuggle session this afternoon. :) Some of you have hit midnight already, I've got a ways to go so bring on the drinks.

Staying home with my friend Mr. Ceasar  He's some some might long celery sticks.:eek::D

Happy Mew Year everyone!!!

How's everybody doing? I'll get another pot of tea going, chai anyone? I've got some lovely cinnamon cardamom tea I could brew up ...

And leftovers from the party, pretzels? What else is left and salvageable?

Would love some peppermint tea. My tummy is on the fritz from eating too much party mix last night.
