Hello All,

I am sorry to send a mass email but under the circumstances, it seems quite necessary. Please read this and circulate it to your animal friendly friends.

About a year ago, I was approached by an elderly man with vestibular issues (and other health problems,) in need of a home for his senior cat. Due to his health, he is moving into a specialized senior village and he cannot bring the cat with him. He asked if The Shepherd's Flock could take the cat in on sanctuary when he moved. I agreed. This man has been a wonderful supporter all year long.

Unfortunately, the time has come for the cat to move this way but the animals in my cattery are quite ill with something contagious. We have not been able to figure out what the problem is. It would be unethical to bring the cat into my environment right now. The owner has spent the last 2 weeks desperately trying to make alternate arrangements but has come up with nothing. His children will not help, nor will St. Hubert's, nor will Tabby's Place, nor will several other smaller rescues. This Friday, the cat is scheduled to be euthanized for lack of another option.

The cat is hyperthyroid and we could work out a payment plan for her meds, although her owner would be comfortable not treating the disease and just letting her be euthanized when her time comes.

If there is anyone out there who could foster this cat -- even temporarily -- please let me know. I hate this looming deadline and I hate what it is doing to this very kind, elderly man. He was in tears when we spoke on the phone today. Most of the cats in my care are improving, so if we could just get something temporary lined up, I could eventually bring the cat over here as planned.

Please let me know if you can help.

Stacy

She was euthanized this morning. I checked in with Stacy in case there had been a delay and we could send out a plea for someone flying to Seattle for the holiday to bring her along, but it was too late. That poor man, having to go into care without his beloved cat and his relatives not helping at all.

Those d*** children! Could they not even foster her for a short while?

RIP dear kitty. Please know you were very very loved by your dad and he and many other good people did their best to save you.:love: I am sorry that a few people's selfishness didn't stop this.

Oh, I am so sorry to learn this. This is heartbreaking.

Rest in peace, dearest kitty, and let your beloved pawpie know you will greet him to welcome him home at the Rainbow Bridge to welcome him home.. One Fine Day..
