I love this.
Pit Bulls have to be one of the most people-friendly dogs I've ever met. When I go home I always get bombarded with kisses and some headbutts :p

I am going to send this to a couple people, just to give them not only a grin, but some ammunition for dealing with others.

Interesting article, and love, love, love all those pics. :)
I had to chuckle at one of the comments too: "they have a look about them that makes them look scary, but that's just the way God made their face." Amen to that.......:D

Well to me they don't have a scary face, they are beautiful!

Their faces are stuck in permanent grins. Scary only for those afraid of clowns and perhaps the Joker. This artical shows all the more reason not to raise them as if they're criminals from puppyhood.

I don't think they look scary at all. It's especially hard for me to find something that smothers me in kisses scary ;).
Irescue, I don't think they're raised to be thought of as criminals... You just have to be extra careful with them because they can easily kill another animal. They have a high prey drive and a high risk of becoming dog aggressive. You just have to be in control of your dog and think about your dog and the example you are setting at all times.

Chris, I heard of a update on Jonny Rotten, one of Vick's dogs that was
mentioned in the link above. Jonny lost his job as a helper to children in a
reading program.:( People can be so ignorant.:(

Liz, thanks for the info, disheartening as it is. Here's hoping the petition has had some effect.

Nice article. Our dog, Jake, was a stray so we don't actually know what breeds he is, but everyone who meets him guesses either pit bull mix or more specifically a pit bull/ basenji mix. He is the best dog ever and awesome with kids. Jake and our 4 year old son very much have a Lassie/Timmy kind of relationship, one is never far from the other.
