The vet said Neko needs his teeth cleaned. He would need bloodwork first and and echocardiogram because he has a heart murmur.
He's not on any medication or anything for the heart murmur and his bloodwork has always come out perfectly.
I'm just concerned because of his age- he's almost 16.
Just not sure if I should do it?:(

If it would prevent future tooth pain and health issues, I'd say go for it, as long as his bloodwork comes back normal, and your vet has an experienced anesthesiologist.

My Pidge had her teeth cleaned at age 20. As long as there's a competent anesthesiologist there, I'd go ahead w/it if he doesn't have any major health problems preventing it.

Thanks :)
I guess with all of Tama's problems, I've become quite a worry-wart!

Filou needed teeth cleaning quite often- also when he was in the later stage of kidney failure. The vet used a very light anesthesia (I think it was that propofol stuff) and he got out of it with no problems at all.
Good luck for Tama- Orion sends greetings to his blue friend.
