Dearest Woofy,
I'm certain that you can hear my thoughts up there at Rainbow Bridge, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm sitting here rather teary after reading your story. You certainly were so very loved and adored, and your person wrote such a lovely story about you, and how you came to be a very special part of an adoring family. I can tell that you are missed so very much and will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved you.
Play hard and happy at The Bridge, Woofy, and wait for the day that you will be with your loving people once again.:love::love:

Woofy was a very lucky pup to be raised(practically) by such a loving
family. Many great dogs are given up by people who just tire of their
commitment too easily, or their children tire of their "new toy":(:(
Woofy was a cute pup who I'm sure, nerver tired of you, his loving family.
He had a good long happy life & I'm sure he would thank you for your
love & devotion to him. Thank you for sharing memories of Woofy with
us. He certainly makes a great DOG OF THE DAY.
 My heart goes out to you for your loss of magnificent Woofy  Woofy was the best of the best and I'm sure he knew he was adored for 19 excellent years. What a sweetheart and perfect dog of the day!!! Peace and love

Your Woofy sounds as if he was a sweet, loyal, wonderful friend. I am so sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a beloved pet. Perhaps in the future you will find another dog to love and give him or her the kind of life you shared with Woofy. Congrats to Woofy for being DOTD!
What an amazing story...what an awesome family! :)
It is obvious that Woofy was truly loved and well taken care of, as he lived to the ripe old age of 19...
Isn't is amazing how pets can bring so much joy and love into our lives?

To Woofy's Family~I too am awash in tears, so very moved, after reading your beautifully written, very touching tribute to your precious boy. To be honest, I had to stop reading for a minute as you described how near the end of his time on earth your cherished walks together might take 45 mins. to go 1/2 mile. There are no words adequate to do justice to such a relationship, one built on mutual and unconditional love. How lucky you were to have had such a fine and devoted best friend and mentor to love, lean on and learn from, from childhood to adulthood. He truly was a Dog of a Lifetime, your soul mate, leaving indelible pawprints on your heart.
I too find it hard to comprehend how a family could "dispose" of a pup as sweet and loving and giving as Woofy so heartlessly. But as you say, their loss was your family's huge gain, and as blessed as Woofy was to have found his way to you, we humans are the ones most blessed of all, knowing the unconditional love and devotion of best friends such as Woofy. And while he lived to be an amazing 19 years, it's never long enough, but the indescribable loss we feel at their passing, a small price to pay for their gift of unconditional love and companionship.
Thank you for having the courage to open up your heart once again to another deserving rescue dog, one from the very same rescue group as Woofy's; giving him or her a chance at happiness. No dog will or should ever replace Woofy, but rather he or she will find his/her own very special place in your heart, right beside Woofy's! I think that is exactly what Woofy would want you to do. And what a legacy he has left behind...a legacy of love and devotion for dogs, compassion and caring for those in need. Amazing, how the love of one small pup could be so impactful, so life changing.
Heartfelt thanks to you for sharing your cherished memories, and your precious photos of Woofy with us, giving us the chance to honor him for the very special boy that he was, and all that he meant, and still means, to your wonderful family. The memories you and he made over those 19 years are ones to cherish for a lifetime, happy times to remember until that joyful day when you and Woofy are reunited! And no doubt today he's looking down from the Rainbow Bridge, so very proud to be honored here today, sending you his love!
Thank you once again for sharing your beautiful boy with us. He truly was one in a million, and so very lucky to have had you as his Mom/Dad.
