My two carpal tunnel surgerys. It was a lot easier typing with my right hand, first time around.;) How many of you have had this done? Mine was severe with nerve damage. Am hoping for a complete recovery although some of the nerve damage may be permanent.

Oh no.:( I would be pretty much lost if I couldn't use a keyboard not
to mention using the hands for everyday life with the fuzzbutts. I never
had the surgery. Used a wrist brace for awhile & that really helped.

liz, taking care of the furkids has not been too difficult. Taking care of my many fish is very time consuming now.

I had my left hand done three years ago. Fantastic results! Was going to have the right done also, but ever since the left was done, the right hasn't bothered me one bit. Since I have no pain or problems there, I'll leave it be for now.

I'm right-handed, so didn't have much difficulty post-op.

Grace, it's good to hear you had good results.:) I had been sleeping with braces on my hands since mid summer due to the pain waking me up at night,
so I'll welcome any improvement!

I had used braces on both hands at night, also. In addition, the left hand would often bother me when I was driving - something about the way I held my hand on the wheel.

Once surgery was over, the left hand was perfect, and for whatever reason, the right has not bothered me again. The left was the worst from the beginning, but the nerve conduction/emg tests showed problems with both. I sort of figured the right hand corrected itself so it wouldn't have to have the surgery :D

Here's hoping your outcome is similar to mine :)

My best wishes for a complete recovery. :) I almost cut my... the one next to the thumb? off a few years ago. There was some nerve damage, so I still feel a little "numb" in that finger. It has got better, though. :)

I had my right done about a year after a wrist fracture, with excellent results. I would even take the brace off at work when I had writing to do, since I couldn't write to save my backside with it on, and working in an office, there was a lot of writing as well as computer work. That didn't have any ill effects tho........:D

Hoping you get good results too! :)

A few years back when I was still working I had a test for carpel tunnel. I didn't need surgery but had to wear a brace to work and that was horrible. I finally had to take time off. I still have pain sometimes but now at least, I can walk away from the computer any time I want too. Hope you feel better soon.
