My 8 year old cat Junior has been stinking up the place really bad the past few day - hasn't eaten anything different, doesn't go outside, there is nothing moving in his mushy stool so I ruled out worms...can anyone advise what this might be & to do about it ?

He could have developed a new allergy to a food - are you certain there's been nothing new in terms of foods or treats lately? Sometimes people forget about treats ...

You could always take a stool sample to your vet and have it checked out.

Welcome! It is always good to post and see what others think in case one of us may have experienced this in the past. I know going to the vet first thing isn't always the most cost effective way if there isn't something seriously wrong.

I just thought of something else though. Sometimes they may change ingredients in foods we have been using all along maybe?

Hope Junior is okay. Give him a little ear scratch for me. :)

Hey there, welcome to the forum!

Since you say it's been a few days, probably not a 24 hour bug, lol.

What food do you feed? You can switch to a limited ingredient diet to give his system a rest, Natural Balance offers several.
