I lost one of my cats yesterday. She was 13.5 years old.
I returned home at night and I found her dead under her favorite tree.

I just don't know how to cope with the loss.
I have 3 more cats, and when I feed them it hurts - it hurts all the time.

Her name was Yohi, and she was COTD August 31,1999.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of beautiful Yohi.:(:( What a beautiful kitty she was. I read in her COTD biography that she especially loved one particular tree in her yard, from where she would observe and rule her catdom. I hope and pray that she peacefully passed away in that spot she loved most. I had a similar experience last year when I came home to find my precious Lizzie passed away in her bed. She was 19. I know how shocked and devastated you are feeling right now. The pain is unbearable. I hope that you are surrounded by loving friends and family that understand the depth of your loss. Only with time will the hurt begin to lessen. Try and hold onto the happy times, remembering the love you shared and take comfort in the long, happy life she lived. One day in the distant future, you and Yohi will be together again. Until then, hold onto the thought that she is happily scampering in flower filled fields at the Rainbow Bridge, where every day is sunny and bright. I know my kitties who have passed are there welcoming her with open paws. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your Yohi was very, very special indeed. {{{hugs}}} Sandra, Mr. B and Oliver

Dindin - so sorry to hear of your very sad loss of the beautiful Yohi. It must be heartachingly awful for yuou to try to come to terms with. Hope 'Rainbow Bridge' might help - it's almost an 'anthem' here for Pet Talkers.

---------------------
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
----------------------------------------------

She'll be welcomed there by all our cats running up to welcome her and keep her company. Don't worry she's fine.
There's going to be a lot of tears shed for your Yohi - but do try and remember all the memories filled with joy and love.
Don't forget your other two cats will be mourning their friend too and wondering whats happened to her.
Your in my thoughts - with {{{{Hugs}}}} from Lynne

Dindin,

I am so sorry for your loss! I know it hurts. But keep in mind that she passed under her favorite tree where she wanted to be. Animals have a way of knowing when it's time. She is now free to be with all her other fur friends and to await your arrival. (((hugs)))

I'm so sorry for your loss of sweet Yohi, she was a beautiful cat! I just read her story and I can tell you had a really good time together. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that - and that she's now playing with the other furbabies on the RB. :)

Dindin,

I am so sorry for you and Yohi. I just looked at her COTD entry and it was very nice. She was a beautiful cat. I bet your other the cats are suffering from the loss too, so do not forget them(I doubt you would). I never really know what to say in these kind of situations but one day you will meet up with her in heaven. We are praying.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your special friend. I'm sure she is at the Rainbow bridge with all our pets who have gone on ahead of us. At least she didn't suffer. Believe me that's something to be grateful for. Prayers are with you.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Yohi. I'm new to these boards, but not new to pet loss. (Don't let anyone tell you that she was just a cat.) I'm hoping that your heart soon heals, but experience tells me that it will be a while.

I read her COTD bio..she sounds like she was a wonderful companion. She will live on in your memories, so use them. Take those memories out and go over them one by one. If you never forget her, she'll live forever.

She'll be at the Bridge, waiting for you..

So sorry to read of your loss. Yohi was a very special little fur-lady. You and your other fur-babies must be reeling with the shock right now. Do treasure your wonderful memories together, I believe it will help you heal. I can imagine Yohi staking out a favorite tree there at Rainbow Bridge, right now.

I'm so sorry for the loss of you're beautiful Yohi.
I remember her picture and Daniela's picture so well, because both sisters look so very different but absolutely gorgeous.
May you find comfort in your grief with your sweet Daniela and your other cats. You said she can feel when you're down.
