Oreo hasn't been able to walk for a year and a half. We said we'd make the decision to send him to the bridge when his quality of life began to suffer. We had to make that decision tonight.
Oreo had a hard, hard life. He suffered from ear infections, eye ulcers, skin allergies. He was abused before we got him. We loved him.
We stayed in the room with him, and Preston rubbed his head until after he was gone. His sweet brown eyes never stopped looking at us.
I can't begin to say how sad I am that my sweet baby is gone.
I am so sad. May you find some happiness at the bridge, my sweet cookie.

I'm so sorry that it was time for Oreo to make that final journey, but please know in your heart, that it was the right thing. You gave him the ultimate gift of love, in addition to the happy years that he spent with you. He'll be waiting to be with you again one day.

Oreo was so lucky to land with you folks. You had patience and gave him what he needed. And I am sure he knew this.
RIP Oreo, have a lovely romp at the Bridge.

Oreo got to know what real love was his last 4 years. He was a lucky dog, just as you were lucky people to have him in your life.

It breaks my heart to see threads like this, especially for the same reason as to why we had to send Sas to the RB. :( They have so much fight and life left but they can't walk so it makes their life nothing.
I am so sorry, but know you made the right decision.
RIP Oreo.

I can't believe how utterly SILENT our home is without Oreo and the snoring... and how he isn't here to bark for us to carry him into another room. Wow. He didn't make much noise other than those 2 things, but he is so missed.

It's been a few weeks now. The absence is very noticeable. For a little dog who couldn't walk, he really had a big presence.
The weirdest thing though... Jadie is a lot more playful now than she has been in ages. The first week or so, she didn't play hardly at all, and now she's like a puppy again.
I still miss my little Oreo cookie.

So sorry you lost Oreo. It does take a long time to forget, I don't think we ever really do. I don't want to forget the fur friends that I've lost but I can remember them without tears now...it took a very long time for that.

I am sorry I didn't see this earlier. Hugs to you all. Oreo had a sweet life with you. Maybe your other pup sensed that Oreo couldn't play, so, he didn't either? I am so sorry for your loss.
