I was honored to meet - in the fur so to speak - the very fluffable Lady Jessica (and her daughters!)

It is wonderful to see her honored for the lovely and elegant cat she was!

Jessica, it's so great to see you as COTD today.:) You really did have a wonderful long life in a very loving and caring forever home. It was also nice that you got to live there with two of your daughters. Congrats on being COTD today!!!:D I know that your family still misses you a lot.

Jessica- I wish I could hear that sound again- the sound of the cat flap at the backdoor as you left when I entered the front door.
For quite some time I thought there were no three of you as the most I could aver spot behind curtains or on the fence was 2. The last picture proves me wrong.
I bow in honor of the greatest of the famous Grey Scottish Ladies:love:

Congratulations to our very own Killearn Kitty Jessica, beloved grey girl at the Rainbow Bridge. What a good, long life full of love you have had, at home with two of your daughters and your wonderful human family!

Aww, there's my beautiful girl! It was Randi who managed to get that photo of her, and it was as good a picture as was ever taken of Jessica.

Jessica- I wish I could hear that sound again- the sound of the cat flap at the backdoor as you left when I entered the front door.

Too funny, Barbara. Our neighbours who came in to feed the cats if we weren't here always spoke about the way the flap would clatter three times as they came in the front door. When we had neighbours in just before Christmas though, Jessica came into the room and sat nervously under the tree. All were stunned. It was the most reckless thing she ever did in her life. :D

Jessica was proud to be mum to two previous Cats of the Day, Samantha (http://catoftheday.com/archive/2008/November/04.html) and Smokey (http://catoftheday.com/archive/2003/January/18.html), and she thoroughly deserves to be featured as the formidable personality she was. She is greatly missed.

Thank you so much Karen and Paul for choosing Jessica today.

Such a beautiful girl was Jessica! All three family members, actually, are stunning. An independent cat but still liked the indoors. That's truly remarkable. I hope that she's enjoying her day as COTD at the Bridge.

Aww, the original Grey Lady of Killearn, how sweet! I just know you're commanding a great deal of attention at the Bridge today, sweetheart, as you should be. You gave your family such loving memories and spent your life with your babies. What more could anyone ask?

I send up a toast (of coffee, too early for anything else) to a lovely Grey Lady, COTD Jessica.

Jessica, Happy Cat of the Day! You were so gracious to let your human mom take care of you and get to know you. You look so much like my Jane, a Russian Blue mix, both beautiful.

Enjoy your day at the bridge.

Oh Jessica, what a treat to see you honoured here today. :)

You certainly were a suspicious girl, but such a good mom to Sam and Daisy. :) You chose the right family to come and live with, and you had a good long life - but you are missed now.

I remember how the catflap went when I came to visit - all I saw was a tail, but I did manage to catch up with you in the garden. ;) I'm so glad I got to meet you.

 Congratulations on being our Cat of the Day, dear Jessica!

Yes - she was a strong hardy cat...I was happy to read that she finally decided to become a 'semi-pet'...! And that two of her kittens grew up with her.
Jessica lived a long wonderful life!

I just had to write after reading her story - especially to thank you, her human family, for having the heart to not take all of her babies away from her. In a world where so many litters are born for human selfish reasons (to sell, to show their children a birth, sterilization not done) I always feel so sad for those momcats who have their babies only to have them ripped away from them, over and over. It can't be easy on them at all - so bless you for keeping a few of her little ones with her, although I know it wasn't your doing that she have those litters.

Congratulations to dear Jessica on being honored as today's Cat of the Day!
I have always loved your 3 gray ladies who looked so much alike, it is so nice to see your beloved Jessica honored today.
I'm so sorry that she has gone to the Rainbow Bridge but she did enjoy a wonderful long life with you and her two gray daughters by her side.
I loved reading more about her background, I always loved the way her character showed through in all of her photos when she death-glared the camera.

Oh Jessica, aren't we all blessed today to see you honored as Cat of the Day? I am so happy for you and your human family too.

Do you suppose you could inquire after my Rascal for me and be sure he is settling in at the Bridge.

You are missed Jessica - we simply never get to have you in our lives long enough and I know your Mom misses you terribly.

You are so beautiful.

It is Jessica and the Killearn Kitties! How I have enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading their story today! The last picture gives me leaky eyes. I know Phred will give Jessica a huge hug today for me and I will get to give her one myself, One Fine Day.

That is very nice that Jessica was honored as CotD! What a character she was! I never knew her entire story, but it seems she had chosen a very good life with her humans who respected her independant nature, and who gave her and her babies a loving home.

Jessica, you've been a part of Pet Talk for so long, and you still are...
