But not for long. Of course the kwintet saw the little thing fly in when I opened the door and they tracked it through the living area. I went to get a broom and a bag to catch it and hopefully release it if possible. When I got back to the hallway, Emily (yes, Emily) had caught the high flying bird and had it firmly in her mouth. After following her about the house, she finally released it after doing some serious damage, broken back I think. I didn't touch but swept it into a bag. :(

Sadly poor birdy has gone to the aviary in the sky. :(

At least I kept the krew from eating an unknown food source.

The krew was given catnip to calm them and re-direct their energies since they were looking around for more critters to catch.

I still can't believe it was Emily. Sam I would expect or Bob, but both of those guys are heavy enough, I would have heard a big thud when they hit the floor. For being 13, she is pretty spry. :D

Rest in peace, little birdie. NOT a good choice of homes to enter!

I'm sorry to hear about the little birdie.:( It doesn't surprise me to hear that it was Emily who caugh the bird. I know that if this had happened in my household that either Pearl or Ziggy would also be the ones to catch the bird. Females are great huntresses. Just ask Pinot.;)

Ain't that the truth. Sam practically sprouts wings if a beetle or moth gets in. Sam is BIG. Things break when Sam flies.
