Yes, as you can see, that shot of Louis in his bed was his first night at home. You can tell because the tags are still on the bed! I hadn't even had a chance to remove them. He must've really felt at home from the beginning.

Welcome to PT!! I loved reading about Louis and, being from Ithaca from 1985-2000, I was picturing him in his cage at the Tompkins County SPCA. I used to go there allll the time and walk the dogs. I am so glad you found him and he found you! You live in such a great place and I'm glad you are fully enjoying the neighborhood now and being a "dog family".

You truly are one VERY special pup to have impacted so positively, so completely, the lives of your parents! As has been said here many times, and by your parent today, our rescues DO so often end up "rescuing" us as much as we do them, and there's no doubt in mind that you and your person, your family, were destined to be together! Love at first sight it was, and the fact that it was captured on "film," all the more special. I know that life changing moment in time when your and your human's very special bond was first forged is a memory he/she will cherish forever!

You remind me so much of my dog. He is part lab too and part golden so he is golden in color but has a white chest like you and white feet and similar looking face and body structure. So I instantly fell in love with your photos. And I love your story as my dog is also a rescue. He too had some skin issues that caused his coat to feel more rough but is now extremely soft. He gets lots of kisses he is so irristably soft!! I am sending kisses to you.....
