Greetings Driver! Happy Dog of the Day to you, sweetheart1 I'm in tears after looking at your precious pics, reading your Daddy's very touching, love filled tribute to his and your Mommy's beautful boy, their Dog of a Lifetime! What an extra special bond of love you share with your Mommy, Driver! You and she are definitely soul mates, and how blessed she has been these many years, having a loyal and loving best furkid in you! And while you may be 3 legged, it's clear you haven't allowed that slight inconvenience keep you from loving and living life to its fullest! There aren't many 4 legged doggies who at age 12 have the energy to walk 1 mile each day, let alone 2! And now you have an even more important job...monitoring perimeter!:) Just ask my Lab Star, who turned 13 yesterday, just how important that is!:D As your Daddy has said, doggies, and kitties, have such an amazing capacity to bounce back after a limb amputation. My kitty Tigger lost his front forelimb this Spring after being shot, and after a mere few weeks he was back in business, just as active and athletic as ever! In fact, his first night home, he jumped straight up off the floor onto the dining room table!:D
Thanks to your wonderful family for nominating you for Dog of the Day honors, so that we might have the chance to honor you for being the EXTRA special doggie that you are, and all that you mean to your family! You truly are on in a million, Driver; a Dog of a Lifetime!
Wishing for you and your Mommy and Daddy a very happy day of celebration, and many more wonderful years of shared love and companionship! Big hugs and kisses to you, beautiful Driver!:love::love:

worring over the things we don't have. I am so happy to meet you today

Driver, we too had a 3legged dog. She got along great, ran & played with kids, swam, was in all ways a DOG! She lost her hind leg in an accident with a car, but lived a healthy, fun, & long life! One had to really look to even notice she was missing one! Love to you & your family, Driver!!!

I am so glad that you pointed out adoption of animals who by most standards may be less than "perfect", I could not agree with you more and I want to further add that older dogs too can be rewarding adoptees.

Your Driver seems to be a complete and total love of a dog and a wonderful companion. I have adopted from the pound and from rescue for all the wonderful companions we have shared our lives with and I would not have it any other way. It is rewarding to adopt, but more so in the relationships that develop. I wish I could meet your boy, he is lovely, give him a big ol' kiss from a stranger who sees something special in his beautiful eyes.
