Good morning precious Kobe! Happy Dog of the Day to you!:)

I was so touched, moved to tears, by your Mommy's heartfelt, beautifully written tribute to her beautiful best boy! You started off life with so many strikes against you, sweetheart, but blessedly yours is one of those happy ending rescue tales, a testament to all, of the priceless rewards of rescue! And what an amazing ambassador for rescues you are, Kobe, one most deserving Dog of the Day honoree...make that Dog of a Lifetime, honoree!:)

Your Grandpa might not have thought at the beginning that he was ready to welcome a canine best buddy into his life. But with your unwavering loyalty, your unconditional love, you unlocked his heart, and in you walked!:love: I'm sure those daily trips home to care for you as you were recovering from your heartworm treatment played a huge part in helping to forge the unbreakable bond of love and trust you share with him, and every day of your life you have repaid him his compassion and devotion with your love and loyalty! How lucky he, your Mom, your entire family are to have known your companionship, your love and loyalty, these many years! I know I keep repeating myself..."love," "loyalty..." But that's what you are all about, Kobe; a loving and loyal best friend and soul mate for life, every family's dream furkid!

Thanks for starting my day off with a huge smile, Kobe! I hope you enjoy a very happy day, celebrating with your Grandpa (and Mom if she's home). And I wish for you and them, many more wonderful years together! You truly are one extra special pup!!!

What a lovely tribute to your Kobe! Your dad was rewarded for his devotion and you too. Thank you for sharing your story with us, I have rescued all my Old English Sheepies and each comes with his/her own story and set of issues that we all learn to love and adore. My boy Taggart (also a dog of the day) has the same habit with the hands, he knows if you are just sitting there you might as well be petting him and he will continue to nudge till he gets his way... he is so big that he will plant himself between two people and get them both to pet him, one on the face and the other his behind..

Oh Kobe - what a gentle and peaceful soul you appear to be. It seems that you have shown your love and appreciation, especially to your Dad, for him giving you a chance and a safe and loving and caring place to be, when you were so sick. I just know that because of the help of all the right meds, and love and support that was given to you, is the reason that you are still with your family today. Hi Kobe, What a handsome sweet boy you are! I'm sorry you had a rough beginning but for several years now you have had loving people in your life. I would guess that as a puppy you were hit with wire hangers & that's why you are afraid of them. No need to dwell on that anymore because you have a wonderful loving home.
