It was earlier this year. I had just, a few months earlier, adopted 2 cats when my beloved Y.Lee passed on. That meant I had 10 cats and that was where I was going to stay. Several people I knew had called me about adopting a cat or kitten that they knew of but I stood my ground. No, I already have 10. Then into the picture walks Steve. A man I have know and admired for 10 years. He helped me when I was in a pinch and now I was about to be tested. "Would you like another cat?" he asks inocently. Well, no, we already have 10. "Ok" he understands

Now do I leave well enough alone......NOOOOOOOOOO

"Why?" I ask. "Well there are some strays hanging around my house and they are brining more all the time, and you know how highly allergic I am. I have no qualms catching and releasing them into another area, but my sons have fallen for this one special cat. They even named him Biddy. They want him to have a real home, one they can visit and know that Biddy is doing well" he answers.
It only took me about 3 days before I could not live with myself any longer and called Steve and told him if Biddy passes the FeLV/FIV test, he has a home. Technically it was to be a foster home, I would post him on petfinder with a local organization, and by the time a home was found for Biddy the son would no longer feel the need to visit and we would have all have done our part. Well, it took me less that 3 days to decide Biddy was not going any where. Despite the fact that he had to learn to use the litter box and was actually frightened by toys and wanted to dominate everyone, he is sweet, loveable and extremely special. I would not have wanted to go through life without meeting Biddy White Whiskers.
Thanks for listening.

Pettalk can be very humbling. Between stories such as yours, and today's story by Catmandu in Cat Rescue I feel ...well spoiling Edwina seems rather inadequate.

My very best regards to you and all of those who care so much and do so much....

He is beautiful and unique! Does he always do that head tilt in photos? It is so cute. Plus, his white chin sets him apart from the other Tuxes in the group.

Hello Biddy White Whiskers!!! I love your story, and of course, have a special place in my heart for you (well, you and the rest of your species, now that I think about it). Did you know you have a cousin named Tex in Ohio? We wish you would come visit us!!! Jen, does the little boy come visit Biddy?

Have you ever tried to stop 11 cats from going wherever they please? You'd need 30 arms !
And yes, the boy has been to visit about every 6 weeks or so. It's kind of fun, the first time Ross came, Biddy "showed off his new house" like he was taking him on a tour.

Jen, I am so glad that you finally told Biddy's story. Who could resist that cute little tux face! So is your collection complete with 11 cats now or do I hear 12 for an even dozen?;)

I remember reading Biddy's story before but it looks as if I didn't answer.

He's an incredibly elegant tuxie boy:)
