Well, whaddya think ... is she adjusting well?
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid38/p308a1cb70f3d4320ffdc4b6d886b10aa/fd118743.jpg
(that's how I found her when I came in from work...)

Here's the scoop:
She's a pound-purry... on 11/1 someone from the Sherriff's office found/picked her up by the side of the HWY. She belongs/belonged to someone--(except for being dirty) she was/is well taken care of! Even has a collar (my favorite color I might add--BRIGHT BLUE--maybe that was an added gift from Soph)! At any rate, the original owner never came to claim her. I was smitten the moment I saw/held her.... and on "THE" day (the first day she was up for adoption; 11/7) I showed up at the pound WAY before it opened--First customer, first choice--SHE'S MINE!!

Little is known about her age, my guess is 4 - 6months. She hasn't been introduced to the other critters yet--waitin' to see if she passes the 'health inspection.' (We have a vet appointment next Wednesday morning. *crosses fingers for a clean bill of health*) After that, she'll be introduced to the rest of the furries....

Mom gave me one condition on adopting her :D... "First place you take her is by my classroom so I can see her!" lol Second place she visited was the bathroom sink (at the house)---she was one DIRTTTYYYY lil' girl!!! Oh and did I mention, she came complete with fleas?! I think I got them all off but not quite sure....

Dad, never one to admit he likes cats (but if you leave the room, he'll baby-talk them! :D ) readily said, "She's CUTE!"

We still don't have a name, but we DO have pictures! ;)

She is QUITE the little ham!!

Congrats on a cute new kitty. Keep us posted. :D

AAhhhh,Congrats Zippy, she really is a cute,I have seen her bathing in the other thread, they are so cute when all wet:p
I got a new kitty,a orange tabby, two days a go and there's noting sweeter that those lil ball of fluff.
Often I name my pets after the place I got/found them. Also I was told that cats likes the sound of "sh".Maybe Sasha, that was the name of a femalle cat I rescued once. My stepdaughter, living in Utah, has a kitty that look like yours and she's called Sushi.Or maybe Greish from grey. Is all I can think by now.
Enjoy the kittenhood, they grow so fast!

(Just don't ask me why right now, OK?)

Oh Tonya what a little love! She is just a little doll baby and so beautiful. I know you two are going to have so much fun together. There is nothing like a kitten for entertainment. I can remember just laughing at my two when they were that age. They are just so silly sometimes. :) Please do keep us informed about her name so we can be properly introduced. I hope she realizes she has just wound up in the bestest home in all of New Mexico!

Such a sweet, sweet face! Oh my.

I would suggest Lily as a name, since she is so pretty and delicate.

I think she deserves whatever you want to call her....but something relating to beauty and daintiness.

I am sure you will decide. My first comment when I saw this pictures was " what a sweetheart"...... gosh, Tonya, she is such a beauty.

I would put some liquid flea stuff on her ASAP - something like Advantage....

I want this kitty.

Zippy- she is just adorable! I think she settled in very easily, judging from the first picture. I hope all goes well at the vets and with the introduction to the rest!!! Good luck, and keep us posted.

There are lots of 'OH TONYA'S being written here and I need to jump in and add my own!

Isn't she just the cutest little girl - check out those eyes - such a beautiful color - one bath and her full beauty came through.

How could anyone let her go? Well, guess Miz Sophie saw her running around without a good home and knew exactly what to do.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am for you.

Hugs from Gini and Mr. Rascal

Tonya she is so pretty! I'm so happy you and she found each other! :D I can't think of a name.. I'm usually so bad with that! I go to www.babynames.com to help me decide if that helps because it gives meanings!!

I'm so happy for you!!! :D

My goodness....if that's not the face of an angel...I don't know what one is. She is amazing Tonya!! Such a cutie!

As far as name go...I LOVE the Lily suggestion! So cute and it would really fit her. Let's see...she DOES need something delicate...Josie? Josephine? Josephina? Ashley? Emma? (Friends STOLE that name from me! ;) ) Emily? Ashlyn? Penelope?

Anyway...whatever her name ends up being, it'll fit her. She's such a cutie!!

I'm so happy for you sweetie!!

Oh my!! She is just stunning! Simply gorgeous!! I'm so glad you found each other. Love the pics...especially the leopard print in the last pic *grin*

I think she looks like a Sophie. I love that name. I wanted to name Gigi that but got overruled by the BF because it's *his* kitty....Riiiggghhhtt!

Tonya, what a sight to come home to - she is the cutest little girl! :p I hope all goes well at the vet!

Talking about names, I quite like Sasha, Ashley and Kimberly - or how about Ophelia? .... only joking! :D

Edwina's secretary! I was going to ask, was that what Edwina looked like as a baby? - she looks real cool on that pic!

You could name her Rose, because after her bath she probably smells just as good as one! She is one lucky kitty to be found before she was on the highway!!! I get chills just thinking about what could have happened to her. Sounds like her guardian bunny angel was all ready on the job keeping her safe. :D

:D GREETINGS! from a very SLEeeepie KittyMom (our Miz Tonya)...

"New kitten doesn't unnerstan the concept of SLEEP! ;) "

Seems Miz K.C.Kat enjoyed romping in the bedroom most of the night...

"And everytime she jumped on the bed, I thought it was Soph... :( "

Tonya continued ~ "Prolly won't be on much for the next week - have to work 8 days straight and what a !@#$!@# schedule...
Past wk (and wed/thurs) I worked a split shift 11:30am-9:30pm
For today (Fri) & tomorrow (Sat) I work 6:30am-4.30pm
Then Sunday I go to evenings 2:30pm - midnight
Oh yeah... and throw a midnight shift in there somewhere... but "we don't know when... "

As Zip was departing for work at 6am -
Miz K.C. was curled up and Sleeping! :p

Our guess is with working 10 hours, being KittyMom, snapping Kitty pix, and trying to sleep with K.C. using her as a  jungle-gym all nite ~ Miz Tonya is going to be hard-pressed to do much PT posting :( for the next few days.

Ahhhh... the joys  of Kitty Motherhood!

PS's:

Let's ALL say a few PT Prayers for a clean bill of health for lil K.C. when she makes her visit to the White Coat next Wednesday!

If you missed the Realy CUTE! introductory photos from yesterday, they're at >>
"A *tHuMp* from Heaven" :) (http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16899&perpage=20&pagenumber=1) here in "Cat General"

I'd be honored if Tonya named her new fur baby after me. :D ;)

She's adorable! She reminds me of a long haired version of my kitty Onneka. :)

You could nickname her Ophie and later get her a boyfriend and name him Opie... they could then raise Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Goober, Floyd.... the Whole gang from Mayberry!:D :D

I like KC however its spelled. Course I am partial to Josie also that's my grandma's name. And Sasha but that is kinda close to Sophie. And since Sophie sent her........... :)
With bright blue collar and all I'd say Sophie BunButt knew what she was doin!

She looks like she's making herself right at home! Yep, you can tell who's going to be ruling the roost in that house. ;)

She is absolutely adorable - even cuter now that she's cleaned up. ;)

And Edwina looks like she's saying "No, no....like this, with all feet upfront." She's going to make such a good godmother. :)

I think she's kind of like Lut's Inka - that she's gonna be a big cat when she grows up. But hopefully she'll stay little for awhile longer. At least long enough for Tonya to get a little time off work to spend with her. ;) :)

I really like the name Anika. A friend of ours in Germany has a daughter named Anika. That is the first time I heard that name and I think it's really a pretty name. I see the A too, and that is a really good idea to have an A name. :)

What a precious kitty she is! Congrats again, Tonya, on your new addition. I know that she needed you as much as you needed her. She certainly settled down into your heart and home quite nicely:D :D
What gorgeous eyes she has! Love the "eyeliner".
The name Thomasina came to my mind when I saw her...with her grey and white tuxedo that she's wearing;)
She really is a treasure and I look forward to seeing more pics of her and hearing all the "tails" to come!
**hugs**

Oh my. Just look at her sweet angel eyes. She's beautiful! Sophie send you an angel from heaven, so for the name, I would suggest:

Angel.

If not Angel, I like the names:

Pearl
Rose
Jasmin
Ruby

Good luck on naming your precious angel!

She is just great! She reminds me of Daniela when she was a kitten. Now she is "matured", but she is always a baby to me.
I'm sure you'll be best of friends.
Have fun!

Ohhh I'd like to add another name suggestion :) How about Bunny in honor of Sophie girl? Just a thought. I don't know if it would be too painful of a reminder. She sorta does look like a Bunny.

Look at my gray and white fosters I saved a couple weeks ago (think I only posted their pic on the dog side :o )

She is just beautiful! Just look at those eyes, those are Angel eyes on an Angel face, and wasn't she sent to you by an Angel bunny? Like many others have mentioned already, I think Angel is the right name for her.:)
