Tigger the Parakeet

Hi, thanks for sharing Tigger's story with us. He is a beautiful boy. Keep being patient with him while you teach him new tricks. I had parakeets when I was a girl, my first at age 11. I only used a handbook about parakeets to teach myself to hand-tame my bird, to "talk", whistle with me, and other cool things. It only takes kindness, patience, and positive rewards for them to respond to you. They are very smart, want to please, and crave companionship. Sounds like a dog, right?:D My first bird would whistle the tune from the Andy Griffith show because she heard it every day on t.v. I have cats now, so I don't know that I could have a bird because of them, but I keep hoping someday I can have another budgie. Give your little buddy a pet on the wing for me!

Tiger you are one handsome keet. You are just a youngster & you have a wonderful caring Slave. Yes, a Slave :) All bird owners are called Slaves we are there for your every need. Giving scritches (rubbing your head when you have pin feathers) buying you toys, making sure you have clean water everyday along with your favorite foods. I am a Slave to Pesky & Pal. Pesky likes to play the feather game when I hand him a feather he will chew on it & drop it to the bottom of the cage. Pal likes to jump on his swing & flap his wings to make the swing move fast. No wonder you captured your human's heart. Who would not fall for your sweet face? :) I bet with a little more time, you will learn lots more things. Some of us just don't like being rushed, do we? ;)
