I don't know how many of you check the cat rescue section but I figured this one needs attention ASAP!

Please if you can foster just 1 cat that would be so helpful. I can even try to arrange transportation too.

These cats are all friendly, not feral!

I've shared this on facebook and most of the kittens have been saved but not a lot of the adults.

Here's the latest update:

Lots of cats are still in need. We've removed 4 adults and 30+ kittens ... and there's an estimated 80 - 100 cats from the ages of 5 months and older still remaining in the house! Please share this album

Joa's Arc has been made aware of a house with 100+ cats in southern New Jersey.

It's not the cats' fault their owner didn't get them spayed/neutered before and that they keep reproducing. That is sadly how there got to be so many cats in just one home and no animal should be subjected to living in such an overcrowded, filthy and stressful environment like the one inside this house.

Joa's Arc is now trying to get these cats fixed, vaccinated, tested and into safer, more loving, new rescues, fosters & homes. It takes money to do all that though, so we're asking for your help.

Staying in this house means high stress, fighting, living in extremely dirty conditions and the possibility that any day now, the town will come in and euthanize all of them - there is simply not enough space for all of them in the local shelter, so euthanizing them will be what happens.

Joa's Arc was in no way prepared to find out about all these cats needing medical attention, which all these cats absolutely do require before they can be taken from the house and put into safer places. There owners will in all likelihood soon be kicked out of the house. So, Joa's Arc will soon be needing to provide these cats with food and clean litterboxes, which are supplies we'll need to buy or have donated.

Donating through this website is simple, fast, totally secure and will literally be a life saver for these cats!

These are healthy, socialable (not feral!) cats that deserve love, safety and kindness. There are cats of every color, size, age and hair length! They need to get out of this dangerous, filthy, overcrowded house ASAP and by donating, you will be helping Joa's Arc get them the vet attention they need!

Many thanks for your support ... and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate to help these cats too!

Here are some updates:

"apparently she sectioned off momma cats with babies ... and then kept the families all together, so these cats are all fairly young, related and very scared because they've been kept secluded (and away from people)"

"DRY CAT FOOD NEEDED FOR HOARDING SITUATION! This is how you can help. Please drop off a bag or two of dry cat food, any brand to Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043, Almost Home Animal Shelter, 9140 Pennsauken Hwy # C, Pennsauken, NJ 08109 or Lipkin's Pharmacy. 113 New Broadway, Brooklawn, NJ. Write Joyce Moyer on bag please."

"To make matters more urgent though (aside frm living overcrowded and in filth), the cats need to be removed ASAP! The courts are involved now and all of these nice, healthy, beautiful cats could be removed any day now by the town and we know what will happen to them then...

It's not their fault their owner didn't get hem fixed and they kept reproducing...

Again, there are countless healthy, socialable (not feral!) cats that deserve love, safety and kindness. There are cats of every color, size, age and hair length! They need to get out of this dangerous, filthy, overcrowded house ASAP.

Pass this on, if nothing else please."

"With all the cats we've removed, it still doesn't look like we've made a difference (back room, downstairs on 07/14/11)..."

This is a link to all the saved kitties so far...I'm sure there is more but Jen just hasn't had the time to update them with going to the house and working, etc.

Also, they got a little more time to try to find places for these cats to go, so please consider adopting 1. Or just sharing this link too :)

"We got more time to try to find cats new places to go!!! Please consider donating or adopting - that's the only way to save these cats."

One more update as of this morning:

‎"2 cats have given birth in the 100 Cats House since Sun. Kittens are hidden so we can't find Grrr" that's from Jen.

So if they find them does anyone want to take a mom and kittens??

They did a count last night at this house and this is what Jen said on Facebook:

HOLY S**T! We closed doors and counted ... and after removing 50 - 60 cats already, there are roughly 100 CATS STILL IN THE HOUSE as of tonight!!

These posts were from yesterday mid-day:

We're gathering tonight to go over paperwork (who is fixed, who still isn't, who's been placed, etc) and then to the house to get more photos of the cats still there. Should be more organized tomorrow morning/afternoon to answer questions about the remaining cats.

****update:**** ALL of the cats still in the house MUST BE OUT on Monday, JULY 15TH!

Please consider adopting, fostering or in-taking one of the cats from this house OR foster or adopt from Almost Home Animal Shelter in Pennsauken, NJ. That...'s the local shelter and they have LOTS of nice cats that will be put to sleep to make room for these hoarded cats if necessary. 100 cats in this house and only the space for 75 cats in the local shelter ... you do the math! FOSTER/ADOPT PLEASE!!!
