Saturday on Memorial day week end, I picked up a sweet little very, very thin tortie girl. At the vets she was cleared, except for lice. I put her in a large dog kennel until the Frontline worked. Monday we were going to transfer her into the house. Long story short she bolted and got away. I have set traps and my neighbor thinks he saw her yesterday. He is also manning a drop trap.
She is spayed, and has had all her shots, but I do have a special food for her to help gain weight.
We are praying that she stays in the area and we can get her in. I feel so terrible this is the 1st escape in over 25 years.

John-

We are going to be praying very hard that she comes back. It's so hard. I've almost lost one of mine but luckily she wasn't a smart one.

We hope she will be caught soon.

Oh dear, she's so pretty but so thin. We'll send up prayers right now that you'll get her back. Poor little thing must have just been so nervous, wondering what's next. If she only knew what a wonderful home she managed to get into.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
So far we have had 2 opossums in the traps. My worry is that she dose not know the area. She came from PA and I hope that she dose not try to go back there. There are several hyways and the Delaware river to cross.

Last night I could hear a cat cry in the back yard. So far I have trapped 1 opossum and 1 very large racoon. I just hope that it’s her crying.

Is the crying close enough for you to look? With perhaps a large large towel? I hate suggesting anything as you have years of this and will know anything to try.

More prayers going out!

She looks so frail, I hope she gets brave and goes in the trap for your sake and hers. I am also in NJ so will keep an eye out as I do TNR for the ferals/strays.

I also lost a cat on Memorial Day. I am at work right now so can't post photo but he is a robust adult neutered dark gray and white tuxedo male with ear notch. I may start a new thread from home so I can post his picture. Please include him in your prayers.

I'm afraid that Dee Dee is gone. She was so thin and frail, I posted pictures and talked to all the neighbors. No one has seen her. I am returning one of the traps today, but the other I will still leave out.
So far the only ones trapped were 2 raccoons, 1 opossum, and this week end 2 skunks. All were relocated over 2 miles from here.
We thank all of you for your good thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry.

Continuing prayers for Dee Dee, that she comes back to you or else is somehow safe and loved and cared for. And if she is at the Bridge, you know she knows how much you love her and will be waiting for you, One Fine Day.

Thank you, but to have lost one like this is extremely hard. To make it worst I just received news that my first transport KOI was pts because of massive cancer. Not a good month.

Thanks so much, Phesina.

Gill, don't give up hope yet. Cats are resilient creatures. They have been known to return after months (even years) have gone by. I have a book called Cat Miracles and it contains many stories of lost cats returning to where they were given love.

Thanks everyone.
I had to return the have-a-hart trap, but I still have the drop trap set up. I have rigged it with a treddle board that trips with only 6 oz on it. If she comes by I'm sure we will get her.

Gill, check out Dr. Lisa Pierson's comprehensive website www.catinfo.org about drop traps. Some can injure cat's tails. She builds her own and gives instructions on how to replicate hers. She shares a wealth of knowledge about cats and her website has become my cat care bible. I  her.
