Well most of you have seen pictures of Patch. He likes to kidnap stuffies from my kids rooms and attack them. My daughter has a stuffed blue and purple dragon named Puff that he used to drag into the living room and play with, then it was a huge Tigger doll that my son has the thing is as big as he is and now it's a reindeer doll that my son has. In the past some of the really small stuffed animals that he has stolen have eventually ended up floating in the water dish. I usually just take them out wring the water out of them, make sure they are clean and return them to their rightful owners. Patches birthday is coming up in July (he'll be a year old) I think I may have to get him his own stuffed toy to play with.

Hmm, what fun would that be, one he doesn't have to purloin? ;)

Maybe he wouldn't pay attention to one of his own - he might just like the thrill of the theft :)

Aww, Patch! I've never known a kitty to do anything like this before!
How are you, otherwise? Are you still enjoying dad's lap?

I would take pics but by the time I grab the camera the kidnaped toy has usually either been abandoned or rescued. I asked LH about getting him his own stuffy but he said "Then it wouldn't smell like Axel, my son. Then he said "it's suppose to be a boy and his dog, not a boy and his cat.". Lol

Oh no! Patch has been reading of Ruby and Vinnie's exploits and has picked up some VERY bad habits. I hope he can be turned away from his life of crime.

Somehow I doubt he'll be getting a feline good citizen award anytime soon. Yesterday I had to rescue the reindeer 3 times, and when I came back in from gardening the stuffie was yet again wrapped up in a cat.
The funniest part is hearing a CRASH from the boy;s room, yelling at the boy to ask im what the heck he's doing, only to find out that Axel isn't in his room, it was just Patch causing a toy landslide to get the one he wants.

Last night he went into super speed psycho mode. He was just running through the house for no particular reason. I don't even think he had any catnip. I was in the kitchen putting together LH's lunch for work and this orange and white streak kept going through the house with an occasional crash because he was going too fast to stop.

HAY welcome to my world, we have the Crazy psycho black cat, AKA "LUCKY". All you will see is a kind of gray blur ( he moves so fast he is not black any more) as he flys past. Full bore front to back up stairs, down the stairs front to rear 1st floor then back up. All you hear is the pounding of paws, a crash, and a hiss from someone he ran over.
This happens about 1 or 2 times a week.
One day I came home from work and found the fridge door open. My sealpoint siamese cat Mozart, was chewing on a raw chicken in the middle of the kitchen???? We'll never know how he pulled that one off :eek::eek:

The kids have waved the white flag. Tigger now belongs to Patch. He's even quit stealing other toys out of their rooms........for now.

A more experienced cat-owning friend of mine explained what that's all about. Your cat has the 'oh #@&!s'. As in 'oh #@&!s I have to run over here . . . oh #@&!s now I have to run over there . . . .' They all get moments of it. We had a little calico creature with long spindly black legs when I was a kid who did it up and down the hallway with our tabby, so loudly my mom started calling her Whompetty, after the noise that she made.
Limpet had a real thing for long skinny things. Zero interest in anything round, ball-shaped, three-dimensional, all stuff like that. We finally resigned ourselves to the fact we just weren't going to have the satisfaction of buying her new cool cat toys because she just didn't care. Pens and drinking straws for her. To get her attention a thing had to be longer than it was wide, and then it was a dead . . . thing.

Only once or twice a week? You're lucky. I get psycho kitty about once a day. With or without catnip.

The narrator of the video is my son Axel and my daughter MJ is assisting. I believe my son is the one who took the pictures as well.

Awww, hi, Patches! And Hi, Axel and Marylin! Fir everyone else, Grandpa (my Dad) swears Patches has no bones whatsoever, as when he relaxes he just spreads out flat as a pancake - albeit a fluffy one!

Patch sure has become a very handsome boy.:) Alani & Blaze do the zoomies too but this is expected because they're still young. What I love to see is when my 15 1/2 year old Storm goes into hyper mode. All of the other cats just sit there and watch him too. When he does this I call him a speeding bullet. If you're in his way, he might even knock you over. He hasn't done this in quite a while so when and if it does happen it's a major event for him.:)

I appreciate the company in bed, but does he HAVE to sleep across both of my ankles?
It can't be comfortable.

This morning we were treated to an extreme psycho kitty...
He was chasing his tail, and was so wrapped up in chasing his tail he knocked over the trashcan in the laundry room, ran into the woodbox, and hit his head on the TV stand. None of the collisions even registered, he just kept after his tail!
Tonight he was sitting on the back of the loveseat, chasing a moth outside the window (and wondering why he couldn't get it). I went over after he settled down to scritch him, and he looked at me rather surprised, like he was expecting to get into trouble.

Silly Patchie! I can just picture that tail chase, and after all, he does have a pretty impressive tail ...

That he does Karen, it's almost as impressive as his jumping ability. LH has a very tall, I guess it would be an Armoire, for his clothes in our room. It stands about 5 feet 9 inches from the floor. Patch gets on the bed and then leaps to the top of the Armour from the bed so not only is it 3 or 4 feet taller than the bed but there is about 2-3 feet between the end of the bed and the Armoire itself. It's quite a jump.

Does it bode ill for the TV (which is also the computter monitor) that patch has discovered chasing the cursor when I move the mouse?
Hmmmm.

Ruh roh - how stable is the monitor/TV? Would a certain furry missile launched at it be enough to send it crashing ....

Well, I went to the pet store tonight to pick up some cookies for a certain pup.
When I got home, I was putting things away and I heard a ruckus on the floor. The small shopping bag that the clerk had put the doggie cookies and moozles in was on the floor, and all that was visible was an orange and white tail!
I picked up the bag, put it in the livingroom, and he just played in the bag, while Lady poked him with her nose.

Seems I missed this first time around! Does Patch still put small toys in the water dish? My Bobby does that with HIS toys. I take it out and give it a good wash at the sink, use a bit of Dawn dish cleaner. RINSE WELL. That particular toy won't show up in the water dish again for almost a month! LOL
Ah yes, the paper bag mouse was in there and had to be chased!

And then when Patch was done with it Lady proceeded to shred it into little pieces. "It smells like moozles, Mom!"

That has happened too, lol. Axel plays with his train set in the dining room and we sit in the living room and if Patch has followed his boy in there you will occasionally hear a seven year old boy get frustrated and carry his cat out of the dining room.

The funniest part about that Freedom, is that he doesn't go after boxes or bags he can fit comfortably in. It's always the super small or skinny boxes and the bags that he just barely fits in.

This is most interesting Patch! We once had a maine coon who washed all her toys in the 'kitty water bowl' - she drank water from a crystal glass on the kitchen counter:)
Eve loves stuffed toys and I usually buy her small dog stuffies:D cuz they don't make the 'right kind' for kitty cats:rolleyes: She really likes the ones with bells or squeakies in them so she can wake us up in mid sleep when she gets energized and wants to play:p What is odd about Eve's behaviour is that she has a tendency to HIDE her toys (really well:confused:) and then, when we least expect it, out pops a toy we gave her months ago!! She knows exactly where they are, fishes them out and places them at our feet. I have, on rare occasions, found some of her hiding spots (eg inside my shoe boxes ... ) but usually am baffled:confused:
Cats really do have a wonderful sense of humour; they enjoy bewildering us with their antics:D

Well this is silly....predictable, but silly nonetheless.
Patch is currently making a racket in our daughter's room.
On the north side of our house we have a few barn swallow nests. It's spring, and the swallows are returning. Patch is currently abusing the venetian blinds making them rattle trying to get at the birds through the glass. I'm waiting for him to miss on a jump and crash onto the floor.

I can't wait until the ones that build on the other side of the house start coming in. At least in Marylin's room if he misses he might still land on the bed or he can sit on the bed and look out the window. In the dining room he doesn't have that option. He has to squeeze his fluffy kitty but on the skinny window sill.
