A Labrador found abandoned and starving to death in a disused building four years ago has been recognised for his achievements as one of Nottinghamshire's top police dogs.
Six-year-old Monty was trained to locate a variety of weapons and illegal substances and within days of starting his new job he had discovered several thousands of pounds worth of cocaine.
His latest find was cannabis with a street value of about £3,000 at a house in Worksop.
Monty has been given the Terry Ball Award for his work fighting crime on Nottinghamshire's streets by national charity Labrador Rescue.
