I only have the one dog! LOL everyone else seems to have an army of fur friends. My situation dictates that I can have only one pet right now, I tried to move last month but could not find ANY place within my budget that allowed a 50 lb dog GRRRRRRR. Also Juneau chases cats so no cats for me *sniff*. If i was rich and could buy my own house i would have TWO dogs!!!! sigh...

Ya but some time haveing to many pets has its disavantages to like not very much time to ply with them or alot of one on one time, AND alot more work, but the work is of love and i dont think anyone in here would have it any other way

Lalania, I am in the same "one-pet" boat - except I have a cat. And I too wish for a better living situation to have more furry friends.
But, for now, I look at it this way: one day I'll be that crazy lady with 43 cats. So, at least today I appear sane when it comes to animals! :D ;)

Hey, I'm the mayor, and I just have one pet right now, that's no reason to feel inedequte! It's not the quantity of pets, but the quality of pets we have, right folks?

I only have had 2 dogs for about 4 months. I have had 1 dog for along time and I know what ya mean. I mean I always had my other pets.
Ya know what would cure your one pet thing? You should get ratties. I just got 2 new babies and love umm so much. I know am the proud owner of 4 little ratties. One more to catch up with all the other rat people out there :D there addicting, just like pet talk.

I have many, but I realize that not everyone can. You can't let yourself feel inadequate. If you can't own more pets (I hate that word, but I could not phrase it better) than maybe sponcering a homeless animal or volunteering at a shelter might be in your calling. And you may one day have more.

I love rats :) had them as a teenager...such wonderful little things. my living situation is not the most stable and I am still looking for a place to live where I can have my dog...very tough :(

I have a lot of animals, but my horse is boarded, so she doesn't count as being part of the herd, really. I had two cats and a dog, and my boyfriend had two dogs when we met in 1993. When I moved in with him, that means we had three dogs and two cats. Boo the cat passed away in 1996 ;(, and then I got Abby the cat two months after that (I didn't want Bo to be an only cat). Then I found Hanna the cat in August of this year, so that brings the number up to three dogs, and three cats. That is pretty much where it will probably stay, unless we find a nice farm with land withing commuting distance for my BF's job.

I am never going to live with a BF again, I learned my lesson the hard way. My boss lived with a woman for like 11 years, she had a daughter and know he is enjoying screwing her over by refusing to give her money and stuff. And because they were common-law it will be harder for her to win in court.
I have been living with my bf and tried to move out last month but was unable to find a place to live that would allow me to keep my dog, so i am stuck here for a couple more months. I am glad it has worked out so well for you, but please ask yourself why you guys are not married, wrong time? not enough money? my opinion is if the person is not marriage-material do not live with them.

I am one of those people who don't like marriage - I'm not saying it's bad - just not for me at this time. I'm 37 years old, and we've been living together since 1995. He is the greatest guy, and loves animals as much as I do. we just don't want to do the marriage thing at this time - I was engaged before and ended the engagement, gave back the ring....I don't know, marriage weirds me out.

I don't think it is whether you are married or living with your BF...I think it is the two people involved. Marriages don't work out either, people do mean wrong things, etc.
