Hey guys,

My mom and I are (hopefully) moving soon and although I was trying to convince her to get another dog, it's not happening. So, I think we might be getting a rabbit.

I've never had a rabbit indoors, seeing as the only ones we had were outdoor bunnies ages ago, so I was just wondering some general information about them.

Good diet for a rabbit consists of?
What kind of cage should I get?
What kind of toys should I get?
Should I get a litter pan for it?

And if there's anything else that I need to know or you think is important, throw that in there too. I think I might adopt one from the local animal shelter when we finally get moved to Knoxville :).

Thanks!

Definitely check out http://rabbit.org - its got lots of info for keeping a bunny indoors. And absolutely get a litter box - we used a "ferret" litter box, as it has high sides, so bunny feels a little protected.

Any big cage would be okay, we had a "ferret nation" 2-level one, but Miss Hoppy was mostly out of her cage once she was accustomed to life in the house, and litter-box training her was amazingly easy for the most part.

Hay - lots of hay, depending on the age of the bunny - alfalfa for babies, timothy hay for adults, and Miss Hoppy lived entirely on greens, veggies and hay - that site has a list of good - and bad - veggies for bunnies.
