Talk about being right place, right time! Poor Chevy, first in a car engine, then almost drowning in the pond! He already used up two lives as a kitten. Oh well, he's got it made now, and I'm so glad he turned you into a cat person; thank your husband for that suggestion. Chevy, happy COTD; you certainly deserve it.

Iam so glad i saw your story this morning! I just found a 3 week old kitten sitting crying and shaking with no one around -took her into my house last night and was wondering do i keep her-i also have 2 dogs and havent had a cat in over 20 years and never a kitten this small,now that ive read your story and see how it all turned out for you i know will be keeping this baby:love:
So you helped save another kitten today:)-going to the vet also to make sure iam taking care of her the way and she is healthy.
I love your name since you were found in a car engine-cant think of one for mine -she was found under a boat!

I'm glad if you decide to keep your kitten! Personally I think God had me walk down that road for a reason when I found Chevy! Maybe you were meant to find and keep yours, too. Just be sure the kitten gets the all-clear from your vet before he meets your dogs. My dogs accepted Chevy pretty fast, after a lot of initial sniffing and following him around. Lots of boat-themed names to choose from! How about "Anchor?" good luck : )

I was so excited to read this story! I found my cat Malibu (who is named after the car she was found in as well!) in a car engine too, but thankfully she didn't almost drown afterward :eek: Chevy is one very handsome and lucky guy. Chevy, I am so thankful they found you before someone turned on the engine. That happens alot in the colder areas, with the cats usually ending up sliced up or worse, so thank God you were OK. Seriously, I honk my horn alot in the winter (North Dakota) before I start my car if it's outside, to make sure there isn't a cat in there, trying to warm up. Also, it's great to see a dog lover giving a cat a chance. I think there are a LOT of dog lovers out there who would love cats too, if they gave them a chance. So that's great that you got your people reformed! Animals are inocent, they can't reason for themselves and they have no "common sense". So, it's up to us to take care of them and keep them safe. Congrats Chevy and the best of life to you!!!
