Blood Blister - need suggestions

Normally I wouldn't fuss over a blood blister, but........this one happens to be under my toe nail. Doesn't hurt or anything, but thinking I'm probably going to lose that toe nail. My plan is to just leave it alone, but is that the best plan? Any suggestions, ideas?

How big - when did it happen?

If it's new, and large, your doctor can make a hole in the nail to let the blood escape. If it's old, that probably won't work.

Just leaving it alone is probably best, that way you don't risk infection or anything. It may not be pretty, but if it doesn't hurt or anything, I'd let it be.

It showed up after my 10 km run today. I believe caused by my sneakers that are just a little big. Googled it and it's an actual issue, with an actual name, black toe nail I believe. Happens in runners. Never knew. Best option leave it if you can. So will see how it progresses.
