Skat, the diabetic cat

This is Skat was one of the animals featured in this weeks Animal Hospital, a weekly tv programme shown over here in the UK.

My precious Y.Lee was diagnosed with diabetes 6 months before his death. We did all we could but his diabetes never seemed to be completely controlled. :(

Speaking from personal experience, diabetes really really sucks :rolleyes: My cats don't have it.. I do! :(

One quirk that wasn`t mentioned in the link was that Skats owner has had previous experience with diabetes, both his mother and father have it!

Nomilyn, thinking back many, many years, my grandfather had diabetes, and like you say it sucks, though he did manage to live with it quite well. He did go blind when he was around 88, but whether that was anything to do with the diabetes or old age I don`t know, he lived to the ripe old age of 92.
