I remember that day long ago, just like it was yesterday.

I had been at my vet's office talking to my good friend Gloria about how I longed to adopt a long haired black male cat.

I had just gotten home, when the phone rang.

It was Gloria. "Wasn't I just talking to you?"

"You won't believe what I have here." She said. "A 3 month old, long haired black kitten.....in need of a home"

I thought she was teasing me. I was sure that she was.

But it was true. Another of the vet's clients brought 2 kittens in for their first check up. One was her new pet, but the other needed a home. It seems that the neighbor was just going to take them to the shelter.

I said "I'll be right there!"

And so the love affair began. and for 12 years and 4 short months you were the best kitty anyone could ever ask for.

Tonight, my lap is so very empty and so is my heart.

It is asd that Our Cats go ahead of us, usually when we are not ready to see them go.

Thank everyone. I knew Jasper's time was close, that is why I posted in cat health before...so you could prepare for the inevitable.

I sure do miss him. He was, after all, the official greeter!! And he was always in your face, earning him the nickname of "Pesty Westy". Very lonely without him here.

Jen, It has been said that our deepest feelings are the hardest to express. I wish I could find the words to tell you how very sorry I am that Jasper has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
