Hello everyone

I would be most grateful if someone could help me. My 13 year old cat George is really struggling with his breathing. He has also had streaming and weepy eyes for a while. Over the past week his stomach also seems to have got vey bloated - Does anybody know what these symptoms might mean??

We would be most grateful of any advice.

Regards

The Pikes

Has he been to the vet? That sounds like it could be a combination of things, and maybe he should at least be on medication if he's got an upper respiratory infection - that would be the breathing problems and the weepy eyes ...

Poor George! Please take him to the vet - it sounds like he's having a really hard time.

Love, Columbine

Yes, a vet visit is in order quickly. If you are struggling to breathe, your family would get you in to an emergency clinic fast so don't waste time w/your kitty. Hopefully, it's an URI that can be quickly cured but you won't know unless you see a vet. Good luck and please keep us posted. We're praying for your kitty and you. Keep the faythe.

I don't understand those that post - begging for help - and then never post an update.

I found this one to be even more upsetting, since it was obvious to everyone, that this cat should have been seen by a vet. Instead, it's owner wasted precious time posting and asking for advice here.

I feel the same way. They post, pleading for help, when it's obvious the animal needs to see a vet, and then they never post after being told that, or any other advice. SIGH.

My guess - there is no pet. This troll comes in and posts a distress topic - just to see us get upset.

When I did a community search for the name GPandCP I got this response -

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

I got that, also. I think the person who started this thread is a fraud, just looking for a sucker - and we all fell in the trap.

Most probably you're correct, because if anything new, whether the kitty died, or recovered or nothing changed, the owner would tell. When I got a new turtle and I posted for help, every minute I would check for replies, as I really needed help. If there was a real problem, the owner would check up quite quickly and continuously as to know what to do next.

Its either this or GPandCP died. :p or forgot his/her password :p

Exactly - but I didn't word it the way you did - as I would have liked to. I've been "thumped" before, for saying much the same thing!:p

Doesn't it make you nuts that someone would actually go to all of the trouble to post a fake urgent call for help.

Oh yeah, sure - maybe it wasn't - but it probably was..........and all of
us who love our pets and care for them jump in to try to help.

The reply was a no brainer for any of us - rush to the vets!!!

But maybe we were dealing with "no brainers" and that is why they
disappeared.:D
