Well, about the only benefit from having a husband who is a hunter / fisherman is that the kitty gets to play with -- eeeeewwww -- animal parts! This particular one is from a squirrel, which bothers me because I love almost all animals, even little rodenty ones like squirrels, and I go out of my way to feed the little dears. Then my Neanderthal husband goes out into the woods somewhere and kills them. We've been married (quite happily) for almost 20 years now, and I have never approved of his hunting habits, but somehow we are still compatible. (I like how it gets him out of the house quite frequently - I'll bet that's why we're so compatible:D ) I know it's hypocritical of me to not approve of hunting, being the voracious carnivore that I am, but I guess I can only eat anonymous meat, that I have not seen walking around moments before it is killed. I refuse to eat scary meat that he has dragged in the door by it's hindquarters. :p

Another toy the kitty enjoys is a duck wing, but I haven't seen that one in a while - oops - time to vacuum under the furniture, I guess....:o ;)

:( Poor animals. Why would your husband want to hunt a squirrel? They're not eatable! :(

Seeing as you're from WI, I'm not surprised your husband is a hunter. I'm originally from WI too, and hunting is one thing I could never reconcile myself with either. I couldn't purposely kill anything, well....except maybe a fly or mosquito.

I bet your kitty loves all the pieces and parts though. My mom lets her cat outside (on a leash) and she will occassionally tell me how he had "chipmunk breath" or "snake breath." Then she goes on to tell me the gory details of the parts that he won't eat, but I won't gross everyone out here. Good thing I had my breakfast already. ;) :D

That squirrel tail looks like lots of fun!

Oh, and Popcornbird, yes some people do eat squirrels. Not me, mind you, but some people do.

Oh, my - I let Dudley out on a harness and leash too, but I would never let him actually catch any of the chipmunks or birds he "chases" - it would gross me out unbelievably to watch him eat them, and I think the little chippers should be allowed to exist peacefully in their natural habitat. Seeing as how he's an indoor kitty, he hasn't developed too many good hunting skills anyway.
My husband likes to tease the kitty about this, calling him a "puss" and a "wimp", although he's the one who insists the kitty stay inside. Even though he's a Neanderthal, he secretly LOVES our kitty, though he would never admit it in front of his buddies - go figure!:D :p

Thanx, Popcornbird, for the compliment - those were favorite phrases of my mom, the original nutty-about-kitties cat lover.
Dudley is just naturally photogenic - that's why we call him "Supermodel" sometimes:D
