My wonderful Mickey

My beautiful, wonderful girl, Mickey passed away this evening here at home. She was her usual self, ate dinner and was fine then suddenly plopped down on the floor. Her gums were white and her breathing was weak and labored. By the time I got her to the emergency clinic, she was gone, most likely a heart attack they said. She was 14 and a rescue from Old Dog Haven that found homes for older dogs. I got her when she was 8 and I can't imagine a better friend. She had a wonderful smile, loved me to death and that was returned. I'm glad it was quick, she was healthy and happy to the end and was with me. I'll miss her more than I can say and the house will be very empty for awhile. My heart is broken but I wouldn't have missed a single minute with her. I love you gorgeous girl!

I'm so sorry to hear this. :( I remember you introducing us to Mickey, she was a beautiful dog. I'm glad she was able to live the rest of her life being loved and cared for, she was a lucky dog that you brought her home. Rest in peace sweet Mickey.

I am so sorry for your loss. It brought tears to my eyes to read about her . It sounds as if your girl had a wonderful life and home with you and was totally loved. I know you will miss her and she will stay in your heart forever. About 2.5 yrs ago my little housedog died suddenly and I understand how shocking it can be. Your Mickey was very pretty. Take care. I am so sorry to hear about beautiful Mickey. Good for you for adopting an older dog, and I'm sure you both loved each other very much.
