I've been adopted by a Betta...

I was at the pet store and they were having a sale on all things fish. I didn't intend to get ANYTHING but I went by the Betta section and one of the little guys caught my eye. I wish I could get a picture of him but my phone sucks lol.
I have him nicely set up and he seems to be feeling better. The ride home probably didn't make him happy!
He is mostly blue with purple highlights and just a touch of red here or there.
He kind of looks like this:

but the blue is darker and he has a bit less red at the ends of his fins.
The cats seem to think I got them a new entertainment device :rolleyes:
Hubby is calling him Leonard, which actually seems to fit.

How big is Leonard? Will he grow larger?

He is about an inch and a half long and I don't think he will get bigger. I think by the time they get to the pet store they are maxed out on size (but I could be wrong).

Don't you just love how fish have a way of doing that? Trapper was like that, I was "just looking" until I found him!

My cousin has 3 of those and I find they are the most graceful and colourful fish - I just love to watch them. She has 3 seperate tanks for hers, seems they fight if put together in the same tank.

Pretty betta :) I use to have male bettas, but after awhile I noticed female bettas! Female bettas unlike males, can live together in a community tank so that's why I love them, and they come in many pretty colors.

The males fins will always beat the females in elegance and beauty though, they just have a way of saying "you want to take me home." lol
