Make it 18!!! Mike went and picked up Baby today. One of my students had a little Cattle Dog mix wander up to his house and they didn't want to keep her. So....now she's a Kendall and Mike is already spoiling her. He stopped on his way home and got her her own leash and a new collar. She's so cute and so sweet. I couldn't resist naming her Baby. Mike already is in love with her. Tigger even likes her....that's amazing in itself.

Mugsy, Mugsy, Mugsy! What ARE we to do with you? ;)

I wonder if there is a "Pup Rescue Anonymous" meeting in your area?

Now, if you could only adopt one that was independently wealthy!

Best wishes to Baby, and all your bunch!

WOW!!! When are you gonna stop?

We will stop when the two legged world stops abusing, abandoning, starving, and general mistreating of God's most loyal and loving creatures. You come to my house the only thing radiating from there is love and loyality either from canine to human or human to canine and most of all human to human.

Never again will any of these dogs be hit, starved, abandonded,or mistreated no matter the sacrifice we have to go through to do it. All of them feel loved and are happy the way it should be.

Well, I have vented, Sorry for being so brash.

Mugsy - you have the patience of a saint. I am seriously in awe!
My four furbabies drive me crazy some days and I can't imagine the job you've undertaken. You are a good soul to help so many creatures. I'm sure they know they are loved and cared for by looking at your webshots albums. By the way, what great pictures and the captions were right on! ;)

Keep up the good work!! :D

Thanks guys for all your kind words. You know, we truly AREN'T saints. They drive us crazy sometimes too. I would be lying if I said that they were always angels....as evidenced by our house that is in desperate need of cleaning!!! lol They ARE a lot of work, but that's what we've made the choice to save their lives. I'll post the list of poochies after lunch ok?? I have to go to a different room to teach in about 1 minute!! lol

All are well except that Ryu has taken a dislike to Baby or something like that because he always goes after her and she's now taken to hiding in the garage when Mike's home. She pretty much stays attached at my hip when I'm home and I've let Ryu know in no uncertain terms that his behavior is NOT acceptable and he's lightened up considerably. All are well and healthy and happy. As for the oldsters,,,,Jessie has a sore throat and is on antibiotics and Dudley had a mange outbreak and is on Ivermectin once a day and Cephlexin 3 times a day and after only 3 days is made marked improvement.

I have just fallen completely in love with my little Baby girl. She's REALLY skiddish, but is already getting better. She refused to eat the first 2 days we had her but tonight she scarfed 2 cups of food REALLY fast. As I'm typing this she's asleep under my feet. Most of the rest of them are out in the backyard blowing off some much needed steam! lol

Hi Mugsy!
Congtratulations on the arrival of Baby in to your hearts and home!!!

I am new to the forums (2 of my pets were October POTD's...D'Artagnan the African Pygmy hedgehog and Momms Copper the Texel guinea pig) & just wanted to say it is nice to meet someone else who believe so strongly in rescuing animals via adoption & who is just as crazy as I am (your 18 dogs surpass our animal family because they take up more space....even though we have 50 animals in the house...soon to be 52).

We have just 3 dogs....Buckeye is an 8yo Black Lab we rescued from the Humane Society in 11/00, Sassie is a 19 1/2 mo. old Black Lab we rescued/adopted from a negligent home and Daisy is a 9 mo. old Beagle/?? mix we adopted in June from a woman who rescue her in April from the side of the road (she had cancer surgery on her hip and could not keep up with a puppy) but our home is full of other animals.... 2 water turtles and their catfish maid (1 rescued in 8/00 from a reptile breeder and the other and the catfish "rescued" from a pet store in 1/00--the catfish is HUGE and has stayed alive for almost 3 years), 38 guinea pigs (ALL rescued or adopted, NONE bred here), 6 African Pygmy hedgehogs (3 adopted from a friend & 3 adopted from a hedgehog rescue) with 2 more (girls) arriving next Sunday (from the same rescue we adopted the 3 from....1 was an owner surrender who was in IN & the rescuer drove there to get her for us because she is closer and had to go to IN on Thurs./Fri. & the other was owner surrendered back to the breeder and given to Lori....Lori asked me if we would adopt her when she emailed me about being able to pick Zevida up). We also have 4 human kids....16, 14, 12 and 10. We don't live in the country (we actually live in an almost 200 year old village in NE Ohio with neighbors close by on either side) & our house isn't big (1050 sq. feet with a living room that is HUGE)..........it IS a full house but we wouldn't have it ANY other way!

I am sure Baby will be mega-spoiled.....many blessings and congratulations!

Not to make it worse, but HE started the rescue idea when he brought Tigger home after being told that if someone didn't take him that he would be shot. I brought Sox home before he ever moved in.

No - either they start out as pet lovers or they give up and join ya!:D

Exactly...LOL. My hubby was always fine about us having dogs but when i tarted taking in guinea pigs he was a little reluctant. I knew he had converted when he saw a little girl in the pet store who was obviously too young to be for sale AND was being housed with a male (thankfully she was too young to be pregnant but he was worried she would end up pg soon and then the babies would be abandoned) and he TOLD ME she was coming home with us. After that....he never batted an eye lash when a new gp came here to live and he was ready to go yesterday to get our 2 new hedgies and was bummed when I told him we have to wait unitl THIS Sunday. It took him about 6 mos. to adjust to my way of thinking but now, we are on the same page, LOL.
