Delilah (Delidog) 1996 - 12/10/2010

I am so sorry to say that I had to let Delilah go to The Rainbow Bridge today...She had been struggling for awhile now...Her hips finally gave out a couple days ago..I had to lift her with a towel just to get her up...Though she had her faculties,she had lost her Want to live...she actually had not eaten anything in 5 days,drank only a little bit...and didn't move for 8 or more hours at a time...I Could Not Let her Suffer..
I adopted her when she was 4,I had 10 1/2 Wonderful Years w/Her...It was/Is Heartbreaking Losing her...I am a little numb right now...not sure what to say...Only that I loved Delilah...Someday,I'll write some of her antics down here....
"Delidog" has been on Pet Talk for a Long Time now...
She was "Dog of the Day" on Dec. 18,2001....its' not the best photo...but sure was Fun taking it....
She was My Girl,My DeliDog,My Delilah...I Miss her already

I always hold my breath when I look at this thread. Today was no exception. My heart skipped a beat when I saw Delilah's name. Although she hasn't been on PT dor a while, I remember her well. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so numbing regardless of their age. Thank you for giving D a happy life in your care. There are no towels to use to get up at the Bridge. I'll make sure my RB Cody takes good care of her. Hugs.

Thank you for adopting Delilah and giving her a loving and caring home. Thank you too for letting her go when she was no longer able to enjoy life. It's one of the most difficult decisions we have to make and the greatest act of unselfish love we can give our pets.

Oh Nicole...I'm so, so sorry to hear the sad news.:( Like Karen, I have to take a deep breath when I read here, and my heart sunk when I read Delilah's name.:( She was such a beloved memeber of Pet Talk, over so many years, since the beginning; reading her threads, your posts,looking at her precious pictures always put a smile on my face. I'm heartbroken for you that she's gone, but what a wonderful life you gave her, and now she has gone to a happy place, young and healthy again. And like all of our Rainbow Bridge kids, my Jingles and Cody are welcoming her with love and open paws.

I do not even begin to know what to say except I am so, so sorry! And I am so sorry that I am so late in responding. I will send a private pm to let you know why I am even slower and crazier than ever. I have to say though that wow - Delilah lived a long and happy life with you - 14 1/2 years. I know how much you will miss her, and Hobo and Joey. It's impossible to even think about them all being gone. I had so hoped we would get down there before this happened. Somehow the years slip you by before you even know it.

You and the pups are in my prayers. Always.
