Thought Butchie had ringworm...

:eek:Because Butchie lacks fur, I noticed a round red spot in the middle of his back yesterday. I panicked and bought some anti-fungal cream. I put it on the spot. When I got up at the "BUTT CRACK OF DAWN" again, I noticed the spot is still there but it's dried up.

I've been told by a veterinarian friend that ringworm starts in the ears, causing hair loss. I'm figuring, since he's been rough housing with LuLu and Bad @$$ Buddy alot lately, that one of the cats' claws caught him and left that mark. OR...he sleeps pretty close to the radiator to keep warm, and it's a burn.

It doesn't bother him at all, and taking him to the vet right now isn't an option. So I'm just going to keep an eye on it.

Hopefully it's just a skin irritation and will go away on it's own. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

When my RB Starr had ringworm it looked like white dandruff and I think it was on his ears and head when I noticed it. I don't remember it looking like a red ring.

It's definitely not ringworm, because it's already drying up. I THINK it might be a little "burn". Butchie, who you all know is nekkid (no fur) sleeps in a kitty bed near the radiator. He MAY have fallen asleep with his back up against it and that's how it got there.

I cleaned it with Hydrogen Peroxide Wipes and put Triple Antibiotic Cortisporin on it. He's good about it. I think I'm making more of a big deal out of than he is.
