Calgary may step in and save a dog on death row in Toronto.
Protestors are rallying outside Calgary city hall fighting to save Ginger's life, and Bill Bruce with animal bylaw services has offered to bring the dog to the city.
Ginger, a pit bull mix, was involved in a dogfight in November 2005, which left both dogs and one owner with injuries.
The city of Toronto was planning to destroy Ginger, saying it was in the interest of public safety.
Her owner appealed and eventually lost, which meant the order to destroy Ginger was reinstated.
But Bruce says he's confident the dog would pass behaviour tests and would be successfully placed in a Calgary home.
He said Wednesday that he's waiting on word as to whether the offer was a viable option.
