When I got home at 4:30 this afternoon, I found what looks to be a Chocolate Labrador chained to my front porch. I thought maybe she had wrapped that 30 foot long chain around the post, but no, it was tied around a post. Eeks. I am a cat person and not set up to care for a large dog.

She is the friendliest young dog ever. Her coat is more a brown sugar than chocolate. She's excellent weight and form, very clean, and doesn't bite or bark. She's also untrained, extremely hyper, and almost knocked me over. She had a collar, but I couldn't get the chain undone. Thankfully I had a cat leash. I thought for sure I was going to break another limb getting her to the car.

She's at the vet now, being kenneled at my cost until someone claims her, I doubt it, or until she's adopted. One of the techs loves her and the others are infatuated. I named her Brown Sugar, but I may add Cinnamon to the name.

I post pictures of the chain but I forgot to get pictures of her. I had errands to run but she was first. I'll try to get some tomorrow at the vet.

Oh poor doggie! She is so lucky to have someone kind to help her. I hope you can find a home for her very soon.

Aw, she is a luck girl that you would help her. THANK YOU for stepping up (to the porch, lol!)

I stepped outside to get something from the car and realized it is cold. I'm glad I took her to the vet. Her size would have freaked out the cats.

You'd be amazed at how a "little kat" can hold it's own against
a much larger Pooch.
Ole Boots, da Kat never ran into a Big Dawg Visitor that the Kat
couldn't quickly put in it's place.

Maybe one of the folks at the vet's office will adopt her. She sounds like she needs serious training, but is otherwise a great dog!

Poor dog.:( She sure sounds adorable and hopefully she'll either be claimed by someone or will be adopted soon. Thanks for caring for her.:)

Oh, I have seen cats rule the roost full of dogs. However, Spunky has asthma and Sam has chronic stomatitus, both which flare during stress. Both were seriously sick last year about 1 week after Jane showed up on my porch. They liked her, but it still was a change in the household. Don't need a repeat.

Besides, I'm not setup for dogs with my lifestyle. Perhaps when I retire.

She's so frisky that I only got one clear pic, but I've uploaded 3 for your pleasure.

That's the vet tech holding her.

She sure is a cute pup.:) Any guess where she might have come from?
Who tied her to the porch? Did your neighbors see anyone around? Do you
have any more info on her yet?

STUNNING! Oh wow, is there any chance of a home for her? She is very cute, just a handful, lol.

I'm glad you included the "blur" photos, it gives an idea of the energy!

I haven't asked the neighbors yet. At first I was going to ask all the neighbors if the knew her, but not only did I have errands, after I saw how the chain was tied, I knew she was abandoned.

I think as former neighbor that knows I will "care" for strays dropped off here. Hex on them.

The vet techs love her and brought her out for me to get pix. She's charming, young, and healthy. And full of energy.

Oh, she is that. She's precious.

That's why I included the blurry pix. She's got the energy of a nervous Pomeranian but she weighs 60 lbs and not ten.

The vet techs seems to think adoption is for certain. One is in love with her. Even the vet seems positive.

I spent part of the afternoon putting up flyers. Left my number and the vets number.

Let's hope it's quick.

I hope all works out. I wonder if Animal Control could have a chat with that 'former neighbour'....

I'd have to prove it first. But if it happens again, I'll report them and probably take the animal to the pound.

What a beautiful dog. I bet who ever who owners are never took the time to properly train her, and then when they just couldn't handle her any more they "got rid of her". So sad.
I really hope this sweetheart gets a good and loving home. It's really nice what your doing for her.

Yes, she's been adopted. I had to go around this afternoon and remove the flyers. Still a few to go.

Thank you all for your kindness and your words of encouragement. She is a sweetie and deserves a good home.

That is just wonderful beyond words! You are an angel to this sweet dog. I had a chocolate Lab once and she was the nicest dog ever.
