Today (10/07) is Yo-Yo Ma's birthday. Also Michael W. Smith, John Mellencamp, Archbishop Desmond Tutu ... and Simon Cowell. So I'll pop in a few CDs- the Silk Road Ensemble, some contemporary Christian music, Indiana classic rock and Ladysmith Black Mambazo from South Africa. And I'll put a pot of decaf on.
Happy Thursday,
Elyse

Explain what? Thursdays, or something else? What can we clear up for you?

You aren't dense; I was being obscure. Richard always comes up with a clever theme for Thursdays when he opens up and I couldn't find one, so I went on a Web site that lists people born on this date. They're all musicians except for Archbishop Tutu and Simon Cowell. Archbishop Tutu is from South Africa and so is Ladysmith Black Mambazo. I first heard Ladysmith on Paul Simon's "Graceland" album in college. Michael W. Smith does contemporary Christian music; Yo-Yo Ma is a classical cellist and has been performing Asian music with the Silk Road Ensemble. John Mellencamp is from central Indiana. You probably know all of this already, right? So, you see it was just me being vague in a (failed) attempt to be clever. I figured the theme for the week could be people born on this date.
Thanks,
elyse

Sounds good! I would welcome a spot of Irish decaf and it is ages since I have seen Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Bring it on!

A cherry limeade sounds good to me today. It's in the 80s. Summer is back? :D
