I got this email from a dog on dogster :). It is so cute, I had to pass it along... HOW AWESOME IS THIS!? I'm attaching a cute picture of Lucy Girlypants :)

"Mom has been closely following the Jonny Walker story (so sad, but her heart was really lifted by how hard her owner tried to get Jonny the help that he needed, we want to just smooch that guy). Anyway, we realy wanted to donate money, but it would've been impractical from here (South Africa), since the costs incurred would not have made it worthwhile. So what we did instead was to donate US$10 to the shelter which rescued me, in Jonny Walkers name. We put Jonny Walker as a reference, they're probably going to think we're alcoholics or something BOL!"

Love
Lucy Girlypants

Sorry Moon I have been so busy trying to get Johnny Walkers story out there. I somehow missed this post. Can you tell Lucy Girlypants we said thank you and let them know Johnny will Love it.

Hi All
im a newbie but I just wanted to tell EVERYONE just how SPECIAL YOU ARE!! YOU ROCK!!! We all came together to seek justice and help an innocent animal, one of GOD 'S creatures. There is power in numbers!! I have found thru my work reuniting lost Hurricane Katrina dogs with their owners, being a foster mom for a shelter or just rescuing an animal in need- people who love animals ARE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE.
I am very proud to be a part if this group.
If I can every help you in any way, plz let me know.

PS Special Thanks to those that reported the crime!!

See here is another organization that I didn't know about. And she is about 20mins away. Amazing what you can find out in such sad times like this.

I thought that was a good news report! Laura's video and photos, a peak at PT, and most importantly, JW!

I couldn't get the first link up, the Baton Rouge channel. The second link is the one I saw.

LOL! Trish better get ready for round two! I have posted it on another animal sight I go to and already had one poster ask for contact information on how to make a donation.

Wish I had time to relearn how to make one of those buttons with the picture that you click on to take you where to make donations.. Took me awhile to learn how to do it and haven't done it in a very long time.. Something we could all use in our siggies everywhere. Anybody else know how to do that?

Mel, I hope someday we can meet since we are that close!

I am again so touched by the power of Pet Talk. I am suffering from major LES this morning, and I am so proud to know you all. This thread only serves to prove how wonderful everyone here is. I rememeber how blessed I was when Bassett was sick, and the help I received, and it makes my heart swell to see it happening again.

Thank you all so much for this amazing community!:love::love:

Yup - I saw mine and Sandie's too - can't NOT recognize those siggys! I told my guys they were on t.v. in LA - for a second anyway....:p

It's so good to hear that Jonny is progressing - and EATING too. It all sounds very positive. Now to get safely thru the heartworm treatment. But he's definitely a fighter, and I'm sure he'll make it.

Keep up the good work Jonny! Gentle hugs coming from us here in hot Delaware.

Some of you may have recieved an up date from Trish but I am going to post what she sent out incase some PTer's did not give their email addy so here's an update as of about midnight last night.

"Hello to all,

I wanted to provide everyone with the daily update on Johnny Walker.

I saw him before I left work around 7:45 pm.

He had just come in from taking a walk outside. His vital signs are stable. He is no longer on any IV fluids. He is on oral antibiotics. He is taking oral pain medication. He has been able to eat his pureed food today. He has a large bowl of water in his cage. He appeared alert and oriented. He looked like he was smiling. His tail wagged as I talked to him through the cage. His get well card is still on his cage. He wagged his tail so hard, it went into the water bowl!!!
It is amazing how trusting he is after what has happened to him. He was lying upright in his cage and seemed unaffected by any other sounds in the room (barking of other patients). He looks happier.

I will get an update on Saturday on him and again on Sunday and will notify everyone throughout the weekend. For now, things look good.

I did speak with Dr. Kergosien this am about him. He stated that he may need to pull two small teeth for him if his mouth does not align properly but not too bad for all that has happened. He will most likely be on soft food for quite some time per the doctor.

The clinic is able to get in touch with me after hours and all weekend if needed. All calls for donations over the weekend will result in the receptionist taking a message for me to return calls on Monday. He will be seen by one of our surgery doctors all weekend.

Will keep in touch!

Trish"

Poor Trish has been going around nonstop takeing Donations, chacking with the Dr, and giving updates to anyone calling for and update on Johnny Walker. Trish thank you so much for everything you have and will continue to do for Johnny.

I'm an insurance nurse so I just have to make a comment on this from my perspective ... if Jonny were a human patient, he would probably have an HMO with somebody like me bugging his doctor about his discharge!

I also got a pm from Kev68 -- Jonny does have a place to live when he is discharged from the hospital, even if Jason is away at National Guard training. (also the insurance nurse making sure the patient has a safe place to live after discharge- that's the nice part of my job :D) Jonny will require ongoing doctor's care for his injuries for at least another couple of months even after he goes home.

PTers, you ROCK! Jonny, please keep drinking your water and eating your pureed food, and wagging your tail! We don't want any post-op complications for you! gentle *kiss* for you

Hi Everyone
If anyone is interested in becoming an EARS (EMERGENCY ANIMAL RESCUE SERVICES) VOLUNTEER it's easy. If you go to UNITED ANIMAL NATIONS WEBSITE www.uan.org it will tell u when the next training class will be. I went down to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to attend the workshop. Once you attend the all day workshop (it was one day when I went) you are certified and then you can sign up to be deployed to help with emergencies.

I live in Denham Springs, I think it would be great if we could meet and have a celebration (get together) to say THANKS to everyone.

I have raised money for shelters by holding raffles and collecting supplies. I am willing to help in any way I can.

If anyone wants any more information about EARS, you can contact me at
[email protected]

And I was on the other end for 10 years. I worked as an RN in Home Health and kept fighting insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid to please help. You and I may have negotiated in the past, lol. Please be assured that JW has 3 homes, and WILL be protected. These kids had no right to lure him off of my porch. They were not even on their own property when they did this. Anyway, we still have lots of work to do, as JW also in getting healthy again. Geeeeezzzz, Laura was right when she said this must be the most popular web site on the www. And WE, THE PT'ers do ROCK. I have never met such a beautiful bunch of people and pets in my life. Again, GOD BLESS!

Just recieved a call from Channel 33 which is a local NBC station. They are comeing @ 1pm to cover Johnny's Story. remember PT the story Broke here on Pet of the Day first and everyone has helped this story get out. Thanks to animal lover's from all over the world, my neighbors, and myself we finally got the story out there.
My neighbors and myself would like to see this on the World News so that Animal Abuser's everywhere will think is there someone watching before they do this again. If that thought saves 1 animal stray or owned, Dog, bird, cat, etc... than our mission has worked, but is not over.

Two kids were released to the coustdy of their parents and the third from what I heard today was still in coustdy do to prior arrest. We know one of the parents. And from what I have seen when the Police escorted one of the kids by me to let him see his damage he was smileing on the way to see Johnny and on the way back like he was proud of what he had done. So I'd have to say no remorse what so ever.

Johnny Walker knows a secret. He knows love. Unfortunately, he learned that not all people are good--some are downright EVIL, but he didn't forget the love he shares with his families.

Johnny Walker's story has shown that LOVE can move mountains and overcome evil.

Please do not forget JW's "secret".

I was disgusted, shocked and horrified by what those "children" did to this poor dog. I do hope that JW receives justice and that those kids are punished, but I hope everyone here remembers the awesome power we have when we work together.

Hello to everyone,

I sent three posts to the thread this am however none are showing up so I will make this one really short. Maybe it is timing me out!!

I spoke with Dr. Freyda Staten, our Emergency doctor on Saturday at 11 pm and she stated that Johnny was doing fine. He is still eating pureed food. He is off of all IV fluids and medications. His vital signs are stable. He appears content and his tail is wagging. I will speak with Dr. Kergosien on Monday regarding a projected discharge date. I know we needed to be sure he could eat and drink before discussing release from the hospital. I will post again on Sunday night.

I reviewed all of the posts from where I had left off (page 8) to page 21 tonight. I also reviewed the two news stations in Baton Rouge, LA who did stories on this Friday night. I viewed the you tube video too. I will send a summary of all activity to our 13 doctors on Sunday by email and also post for our entire hospital staff on Monday am. Thank you all again for your support, prayers, love and concern for Johnny. Thank you also for all of the very generous comments about our hospital and our staff. We have a wonderful staff of doctors, technicians, receptionists and support staff of which I am proud to be affiliated with. We are honored to have been a part of the recovery and care provided to such a wonderful pet and to have had the opportunity to get to know the dedicated owners and all of you!!

I went to Houma yesterday and spent the day there to find out that orders did not go through with me so I was sent home. Its good I see. I can be here for Jonny Walker and I will be there tomorrow when the news channel comes out here.

Thanks everyone!

Well, I'm kinda relieved :) Glad to know you'll be able to stay home for a while longer :)

I watched a video someone posted on Youtube and had tears in my eyes. This poor dog had a broken jaw (can't close his mouth or eat), broken nose and missing teeth. Yet everytime someone came into the room, his tail and tush would be going a mile a minute. Too bad some people can't understand the unconditional love an animal brings into this world.

I say throw the book at these three kids AND their parents. What the hell were those juveniles doing out so late?? Those kids knew what they were doing, having lured Johnny Walker from his porch. I hope Johnny Walker's owners sue the crap outta those people and press charges.

Karen, I cannot view the TV news link, as I need Flash Player. :( I'm waiting for my Pioneer CV drive to arrive, so I can get my system upgraded. Then, I should be OK.

I hope someone can video it and save as a QuickTime, AVI or WMP.

Laura's Babies it is me with a long thread about Johnny Walker and facebook. One of my facebook friends posted this story and I read it and it broke my heart literally. I am the owner of a three year old beagle, who is spoiled as anything. When I read this story I didn't know what to do to make anything better except pray for his survival and I have read all the links everyday to see how much he is loved and I posted a few pictures of him so others would know his story and pray for him or make donations. I hope this was alright. I will continue to pray for him and other animals who may not have the same support. Thank You all for letting me a part of Johnny Walkers life and history. I live in Illinois and I have talked with many people here as well. I am so happy that it has gained publicity as well. He needs to know not everyone is bad and hopefully that teen will be sentenced rather than just fining. Maybe he won't smile if he were a witness to something so terrible in the future.

I Just called LA Veterinary Referral Center for an update on Johnny. They told me he is in good spirts. He has been eating granted he is being a bit mess for understandable reasons. He has started cleaning his little bottom. I just laughed and said I rather hear he was cleaning himself there but thats good compaired to Thursday he was unable to do so.
She also stated that they have all been spending sometime with him (which is a good thing), and the would tell him that we called to check in on him. So all is sounding good for now. I think Trish will be giving us all a better update a little later, because she is able to get us so much more information.

babsbil-Aren't beagle's the BEST dogs ever!? They are wonderful pets and excellent hunters. I love their long floppy velvet ears.. Feel free to use any of my pictures to further the cause for Johnny and other abused animals. People have GOT to realize, abusing animals is WRONG! They are not dumb, or unfeeling, and people need to know there are people that will stand up against animal abuse and make a lot of noise and BE HEARD! I hope you also posted the You Tube video on your fb page too!

Laura. there's no such thing as a "tweet page" - I tweet daily for the dog, cat and pet of the day, and those who subscribe see it in their "feed" of tweets. It would have to be someone on the "ground" with Jonny, and I don't think we need to add to their burden.

People have tweeted about him.

We got a call that Dr Kergosien needed to see a part of Jonny's family. I was on the way out the door when I recieved this call. Jonny is doing ok but he will be going thru another surgery tomorrow to remove some teeth. Dr Kergosien said these teeth have been rubbing Jonny's K9's for sometime. He is donating his time for this and asked if Jonny could be fixed in this process. I asked where the funds were and he stated the funds are only going to take care of the anistisa (I may have butchered that). His time was being donated for this. Isn't he great for doing this.
They started treating him for heartworms and the intestinal parasites today. I was told that the Internal Medicine Dr. has donated his time as well. We are currently awaiting word on his part on Jonny's release.
Trish also said a couple of the Dr. there had donated some funds towards Jonny's bills as well. Aren't they just the greatest? LOL Jonny is known as the Legend at the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center. He is Famous thanks to everyone here. We will update all of you as soon as we get them.

Yes Kevin, all of those wonderful doctors are simply the best, not only because of their amazing skill, their expertise and dedication, but for their generosity!!! Thank you SO much to all of those terrific professionals and caregivers at the hospital! I'm hoping for a successful, uneventful procedure for Jonny tomorrow; so glad to hear as well, that he's already undergoing treatment for his parasites and heartworms! Many EXTRA thanks to Dr. Kergosian for his caring, his compassion and his generosity of spirit, his time, and his care. As a critical care nurse, and one who has worked with Drs. Without Borders, I know so well the priceless impact of such selflessness, how appreciated it is. Please say thank you to him, to everyone there, from us all! Rotten! What he is already rotten! the vets office already has him spoiled to the core:D

If there is even a 1/10 of 1% chance that he is not completely, thoroughly spoiled rotten, I would be happy to help finish the process :D

Kevlin's posting is a summary of what we discussed today. Dr Kergosien wanted to see if his teeth would align properly after surgery. He did not want to pull teeth before the surgery unnecessairly. There are two upper teeth that are rubbing on his two bottom teeth and the two teeth are worn so this was not something that happened in the past 2 week period. It will likely make it easier for him to eat and close his mouth. One of the bottom teeth are jagged.
It will be a brief procedure and Kevlin decided to have him neutered for prostate health reasons while he is under anesthesia at the same time. It will all be a brief procedure.
We will know the precise food he needs tomorrow after our Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Kenny Arceneaux, another owner of our practice, sees him again and determines the course of heartworm treatment. He may be ready for discharge by this Thursday but will know for sure once Dr. Arceneaux sees him.
No calls today however we did receive three checks in the mail. Total collected is around $4100 and the cost for services as of this pm is close to this by only a few hundred less. Heartworm medication was not listed on his invoice at the time of the financial update.

Will keep everyone posted tomorrow. He is still wagging his tail. It is a weapon!!! He knocks things over with that tail!!!!!!!
He jumped up on our treatment supervisor, Matt Proctor this afternoon. He is also in our treatment room 2, which is less critical than treatment room 1 where he has been staying.

That makes a loud statement on how he is feeling.... he is feeling so much better!! Wagging that tail and jumping up on people. I bet he is just to frisky now, raring to go and run, run, run!! He has what? 2 weeks of energy stored up? That surgery on his jaw has made all the difference in how he looks and feels. I just hope he won't be so excited when he gets back to his neighborhood & people that he hurts himself! What a day of joy that will be for his people and his kids! LOL! He will be SO excited!!

Thanks again, Kev, for the great picture and reports.

My dream in life is now to travel to LA to visit Jonny!! I can never thank everyone enough for all the kindness and humanity given here. This story has forever changed my life!! :)

Me too! Jonny, you have a national fan club :D

Thank you again, Kevlin for keeping this thread updated and for the new estimate on the finances.

And tatsxxx11, I would LOVE to travel for Doctors Without Borders. They mostly want nurses with critical care, surgical, ED experience which I don't have, and people who can go with their teams for 2 to 4 weeks (or longer)- which right now I can't. But I hope to work with DWB or Remote Area Medical in Appalachia.

I don't think a separate thread is necessary to tell folks we still need donations, as most everyone looks to this one already, and this is the thread people have posted on Facebook and news sites.

Excellent, glad to hear everything went well - surgery is always a worry, even routine stuff. I am glad they are starting the heartworm and parasites. Do they have a guess at Jonny's age? The heartworm can't be too bad given his energy level now, and the lethal nature of his tail!

Our Gracie the Great Dane had a similarly lethal tail - we used to joke that it was not connected to her brain at all, because she seemed to have no clue when it was banging against someone or something when she was excited!

Sort of a shared "custody" sort of thing then. He should have a lot of
people directly caring for him while he heals.:) That's good. It should make
it cheaper to pay for his reguar needs too, like food, flea, heartworm meds,
and any thing else that comes up. JW is a lucky boy.:)

Johnny's surgeries today went fine. He had two teeth pulled and now he can close his mouth more. He was also neutered at the same time, under the same anesthesia. Dr Anemone Andronescu along with Dr. Kergosien did the surgery.
I spoke with both of them today.
I also met with Dr. Arceneaux this am when he arrived about the heartworm treatment. He volunteered his consult to the case.
He stated that the plan is to continue with the Heartgard medication.
There is an injectable medication that is given for heartworms however the way it was explained to me is as follows:

Heartgard will prevent new larvae heartworms from forming.
This treatment will continue over the next three months.
The injectable medication will be given in three months because the injectable medication kills off adult heartworm larvae. The three month period will allow any young larvae that are existing now to mature so that when the injectable medication is given, it will kill all larvae. (Basically this gives the young larvae time to mature so that the injectable medication works on all that are present). The Heartgard prevents new (young) larvae from forming.
Then a test is done to check for any remaining parasites.

He will have some activity restrictions when the injectable medication is given and he will be able to have this done either with us or at a general practice clinic.

I believe Dr. Arceneaux also ordered an additional lab test today regarding the heart worm testing.

Now remember, I am not a veterinarian so I am transposing the information that was explained to me this am by Dr Arceneaux.

Johnny had a bath too. He is eating and drinking and sleeping on his back.

The plan is to discharge him this Thursday, July 29th at 12:00 noon. This will give him one more day to be monitored post surgery that was done today.

I left a message for Science Diet today. I received a return call but I was in a meeting when they called back. Will call them again on Wednesday.

No donations received today via calls or mail. Total collected remains at $4005 as it was yesterday. I will get with our accounting manager on Wednesday afternoon for a review of all charges to be sure everything is entered. (Some times the charges are entered the day following the procedures).

Everything is going as planned. Will update again on WEdnesday pm.

Our doctor who uploads the pictures taken in the clinic to facebook and to email addresses was off today so I could not send any pictures today. She should be present on WEdnesday. I will get with her then.

Hey everyone,
I can't wait till JonnyWalker comes home! Its been too long. Some people around the community are helping with some supplies for Jonny Walker. Jonny's has a bed on the way along with a dog house and a run. All of us are Counting down the minutes. He does have a huge family that he is coming back to and that is awesome! He'll have all the lovin he needs! We are hoping that all these news channels and interviews and everyone spreading the word that if this happens again, they do have people in this world who care and will do what they must to see them to justice.

Jonny keep up the good work! We all love you very much :).

I'm am so glad to hear that JW will be home soon. Poor guy has been through so much already. PT is so amazing as well as Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center.

My prays are coming for everyone who has donated, said a pray or sent thoughts, and anyone who has cared.

I hope those kids will get punished somehow and this is just a thought that came into my head but can you get a protection order for JW so that those kids are never allowed near him again?

My prays again that JW will heal without any complications.

It is bittersweet that I post this final update from the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center this evening. Johnny Walker will be going home tomorrow at 12:00 noon. All of our staff are sad to see him go however at the same time, we are thrilled that he will be with his family and for the outcome that has been achieved thus far.

The accounting update is as follows:
There were a total of 50 donors as of this pm.
The total charges as of this pm were: $4,504.01.
The total donations as of this pm were: $4,300.00.
The difference is only $204.01 as of tonight. I suspect we may receive that in checks that may already be in the mail.
Anyone who sends in any donations once this bill is closed and paid in full, will be contacted to see if they want their donation returned or do they want to place it on this account for the follow up heartworm treatment. I will keep a very detailed account of this and have done so with all donations, even timing the donations for each day of the week so if we had to return donations, I would know at what point the bill was covered.

It has been a real pleasure being a part of the pettalk.com network over the past few weeks. This experience in working with all of you and speaking with you by phone has been something I will never forget. The amount of compassion and dedication that I witnessed from so many people who generally do not know each other has been an experience that I could not ever have imagined. It is just amazing how much can be accomplished by a concerted effort and persistent dedication. You are all to be commended for coming together so quickly and so strongly to make this all happen.

On behalf of the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center in Mandeville, LA, we again would like to thank all of you for your support in many ways (calls, prayers, letters, emails, postings and donations). Everyone contributed in some way to this cause and looking at Johnny, I am sure he is smiling and saying "thank you" as well.

Warmest regards,

Trish

I want to thank everyone for what they have done to help in turning this tragedy into a miracle. Jonny is now home and in great hands. On my way home from work today I stopped by a local buisness and a neighbor gave me a bed for Jonny to sleep on. It is extra comfortable! Jonny is looking AMAZING! News tonight at 10 with Jonny Walker coming home. Mr ken ( the camera man ) said it was more than a blessing that Jonny went to this animal clinic. Just found out that this clinic also does kemo therapy treatment. It one of the best around.

Trish I want to thank you and everyone over here so much for yall's support! My family and I are happy to see that there are amazing people like you and everyone in the clinic in this world. As to all the pt'ers involved in this tragedy. Without any of you god knows what would have happened to Jonny.

I wish I could meet everyone one of you personaly so I could thank you in person for everything! It means the world to me! To Jonny. To all of us!

Just because everything is winding down does not mean I will stop using pt, I have 2 dog also that I will be posting along side of Jonny. Jesse our Basset Hound And chalupe our chawawa mix ( don't know how to spell that lol ) . We all consider everyone involved to be a part of Jonny's life. Feel free to contact us at any time to see how he is doing.

Seeing Jonny today as a new dog and loved by so many I don't think
I've ever seen Jonny more happier.

My Family wants to thank you for everything that everyone has done! They said they have never met a group of people so loving and caring! For everyone who prayed, thought, anything with Jonny there is a place in Heaven with you name on it for sure :)!

Thank you everyone so much I cannot explain how happy we are with how everything has worked out.

To all of Jonny's friends in the Springfield community, as well as friends around the world, we would like to say thank you! Your love, support, donations, and mostly you concern for his well being have touched our hearts.

Jonny's story has touched many hearts world wide. Pet talk will tell other of the criminal act of animal cruelity and its consequences. We will keep you posted on as much as we can about the kids that did this but they are juveniles so we are limited to what we can expose.

Just today we spoke to Natalie and she gave us a run down of Jonn's care schedule and added that it would be 6 to 10 weeks till the bones heal. We would like to send a special heartfelt thanks to La Veterenary Referral Clinic for their time, patience, and communication to all of us. Trish, Natalie, and the entire staff have gone above and beyond expectations. Dr. Kergosien and his wonderful colleagues have donated their time, concern, and efforts to reconstruct and rehabilitate Jonny. He has called personaly to update us on Jonny's progress.

We are all overjoyed that Jonny is home and we are hopeful for your continued support and prayers. JW still has a long way to go and we will keep everyone posted as his recovery progresses.

GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!

Thanks,
The Mulvey Family.

Hello all PTer's
Jonny's release caught the attention of WBRZ again Kristy with channel 2 and the camera man she had today was was amazing. You will be able to see his release at 10pm crntral time at www.wbrz.com
Jonny is in the process of makeing friends with Dusty. Jonny is also making himself comfortable Jason brought the big pillow over not sure if he will but time will tell. We are trying to get him used to the pillow. He is all over the house wagging that tail. LOL Everyone can tell Jonny is glad to be back here.
On behalf of Jonny I am going to say Thank You all again for your donations, Prayers, and continued support. He has his Angel's here on PetTalk and at the La Veterinary Referral Center between all of you his is able to live a normal life.
On behalf of my family I want to say again Thank You All. You are all the greatest. We are going to get some Pictures posted of Jonny after we relax for a little while.
Jonny is currently limited on what type of activities he can do. He is on soft food, No hard treats, 6 different meds, and no ruff houseing with other pets (LOL I thought that was rather funny).
I would like for everyone to continue to keep Jonny in their thoughts and Prayers. As you know its still going to be an uphill battle due to the Heart worms. The Dr said Jonny would have to be on Heartgard Plus for the rest of his life, as this will kill any new heartworms from developing.
Thank You all and will post pictures later tonight.

I'm so glad to hear that JW is now home and it's great that he now has three loving families to care for him for the rest of his life.:) I look forward to hearing updates about him and seeing more pictures too. He continues to remain in my thoughts and prayers.

You are right about this... Jonny story really has touched people all over the world. When animal lovers come together everything is possible. :D

I'm so thrilled that he is over the worst now and back home with his loving families. :) I know he will be loved and spoiled rotten, just as he deserves! I can't wait to see his homecoming pictures!

I hope the TV station will show the clip later (what can be more important!), and I hope someone will post the link. ;)

Heal up well, sweet Jonny!

I have taken some pictures of Jonny and have been unable to get them posted. I have not forgotten to post them, I have just been getting ready to start a new job and things have been a little crazy phone wise.
Jonny loves to sleep and be lazy, He did sleep in our room with Dutsy and Momo last night. He was on his big pillow by the side of the bed closest to me. However he did wake up every two hours last night which is good. I got up took him for his walk so he could take care of Buisness. ;) He is content being here, Guess he has been ready to be an inside pet for sometime now cause he just makes himself confy where ever he goes in the house.
As you all know Jonny has touched hearts everywhere, I think most were sad to see him leave at the La Veterinary Referral Center. I actually seen a few ready to shedd some tears on the way out the door.
Of course this has been an emotional rollercoaster for most of you that have followed Jonny's Story. I plan to make people aware that this is real and it happens everywhere not just in Springfield, La.
I will post the pictures when the phone stops ringing. Again thank all of you for your support.

Now do you have to eat soft food for a while now?? And do you have a pain patch?? Also how long does the lamp shade have to be on??

He will have to eat soft food for at least 6 weeks, lamp shade lol only when we are sleeping so he won't scratch and lick fear pulling the staples. As far as the meds hes on 5 diff types
(1.) heartgard for the rest of his life
(2.) metacam oral liquid one time a day
(3.) tramadol for the pain every 8 hrs.
(4.) antirobe 150 mg every 12 hrs
(5.) doxcycline 100 mg every 12 hrs
He does good takeing all of his meds. He eats like a horse LOL and sleeps like a human. He has lots of play toys that were donated but.... :( he cant play with them right now, that has to wait at least 6 weeks or until he heals. We will keep all of you here on PT up to date and more pics.... Thanks again for everything, from the Sibley Family Kevlin,Rhonda,Tory,Lisa,Heather, and last but not least Jonny walker

Thanks for posting the link to the video, Laura, and to Kevlin for posting the pics at home. Jonny certainly does look good, and so happy to be home. It's hard to believe that the poor guy went thru so much trauma, and can still "smile" and wag that tail.

I'm glad he doesn't have to have the lamp shade on all the time, and glad to hear he takes his medicine without problems. What a brave boy he is!

I just wanted to chime in here. I did not have the funds to donate any money, but I have been praying like crazy for Jonny. I'm appalled at what happened to him. How could a parent raise a child that is capable of such monstrosities? Well at least they have that on their files (and conscious) forever. I'm so, so pleased that Jonny is doing well and that he is still trusting and happy. What a precious dog! What a huge outpouring of love that sweet pup has dished up!

Wow, I just read almost this whole thread - what an amazing story! JonnyW sure has made a lot of friends thru his ordeal! Will add our prayers for his recovery. Reading about the incident makes my stomach turn - what a cruel & horrible thing to do to an innocent trusting animal. The kid instigating it needs some serious help, this is a deeply disturbing incident.

I'll just ask, since I didn't see one in the 15 or so pages I've skipped thru - is there a post # that shows the address to mail donations to? I had a donation set aside for another canine cause that was holding an auction, but I've been outbid. I would like to send it to Jonny instead.

Thanks!

Sorry I am not posting as much about Jonny but we have been busy. Typical type of weekend around here.
Of course Jonny is like a big baby LOL wakeing up every 2 hours and yeah you guessed it, When Jonny is up everyone must be up with him :D. He snores, snorts, and put his paws on you until your up with him. He is just the most amazing pet. Who would have ever thought Jonny would be a great inside pet, after being outside for the last 2 1/2 years that we know of.
We take him out for a walk and after about 5 mins he is ready to come back in the house. Soon as he comes in its to the water dish then to lay down infront the A/C.
The cats and Jonny appear to be adjusting well and of course most of the time they are in their own little area of the house. but they do cross paths. When this happends they just look at each other as if they want to properly introduce themself, sometime they do the animal hand shake (the Smelling of the Butt). Which looks funny Dusty haveing to look so High and Jonny looking so low. Keep in mind Dusty has always been the biggest pet in the house and now he feels small.
But we will post more pictures when thing settle down a little for us. Again Thank you all for making Jonny's next chance for life happen.

Jonny is doing good, We let Kelly (petfriend) take him to her house. We was going to keep him here but after 6months of being unemployeed I finally went back to work, my wife with her job, and the kids going back to school, Jonny had to be with someone that could be there when he needed to go outside. He also had to have someone that could be there to give him his meds, all the attention he needs. I wish we could have kept him here but, he needs to be where someone can give him all that attention.
Sorry I have not updated more often than I have but I am glad to be working again.

Jonny Walker was adopted today by a man from Baton Rouge that watched Jonny's story on the local news. He has 4 acres of fenced in back yard for Jonny to run in. He also has other pets and has been staying in contact with Trish on Jonny's well being. As a community we decided that being Jonny had the roam of the neighbor hood and the woods before this happened, he needed to be somewhere he could roam with no fear of being hurt. It saddens us to see he leave but he is going to be taken care of. Over the weekend I will get Kevin's e-mail so everyone can check up on Jonny. I do want to thank you all again for your donations, support, and Prayers. If Jonny is needed when these kids are brought to court he will be close enough for him to make it. Please keep Jonny in your Prayers as he transitions to his new home, and still battles the Heartworms. God Bless You All.

Yea, do they know about Pet Talk? It should have been in the adoption agreement that he is a PT dog and we need to have updates!

I am breathing a sigh of relief Kevlin. I was so worried about him being there, his safety and well being, having to be watched so close so that no more harm would come to him. I am SO happy that when able, he can run all he wants, roam without fear.. He is out of harms way where his every moment outside won't have to be watched.. PHEW! Now, he can go back to just being a normal dog and live his life in peace!

Just wanted to let everyone who helped in Johnny's recovery and who have been following these posts, that Johnny is doing GREAT! My husband, Kevin, brought him home and we just fell in love with him the minute he walked in my door. He gets along great with our other dogs. He has even made a best buddy with another one of our rescue dogs. He is an amazing little fellow. Considering everything that he has been thru, he is such a people dog. He has taken to all od our children. I thought he may be skittish of our 12 year old son but he isn't and he is gentle with our 2 year old and 6 month old sons. He knows he is loved here and no one will EVER hurt him again.

Thanks again to EVERYONE!!!!
